Not just that alone, their wingers kept our wide men ( saka and trossard) busy tracking back and supporting our fullbacks which totally eliminated our threat from wings.I think guardiola checkmated Arteta showing him he is still his boss. I think Arteta has learn his lesson as well. This is not our biggest match but the one coming up at Etihad soon.

That season, we were flying. Top of the table, looking like destiny was finally ours. Then one cup exit became two. Then a league wobble became a collapse. And before we knew what hit us, we were sat there empty-handed, explaining to ourselves why it was still "progress."

I've seen this script before.

Step 1 — lose one competition, say "let's refocus on the remaining three."
Step 2 — lose another, say "Champions League and the league, that's still two trophies."
Step 3 — the mental weight starts showing in the results. The legs get heavy. The confidence cracks.
Step 4 — trophyless again. With a speech about how far we've come.

I'm not being negative. I'm being honest because I love this club too much to lie to myself.

The quadruple dream is gone. That hurts. But what scares me more is not the result itself — it's what losing can do to this squad mentally if we're not careful.

We have the Premier League in our hands RIGHT NOW. First place. That is still everything.

Arteta needs to manage the dressing room better than he managed it last time the wheels started wobbling. The players need to protect that lead like their lives depend on it. Because for Arsenal fans? It kind of does.

We cannot afford another trophyless season where we pat ourselves on the back for being "close." Mehn. Close doesn't retire the hurt.
