A popular event planner, Mina Orupabo, has died after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, Orupabo, who was the Chief Executive Officer of Special Bensington Ushers, was attacked on Thursday evening, March 19, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m. The incident occurred along Total Gospel Road, off Peter Odili Road.

Sources say she was on her way to an event venue for a routine pre-event inspection when the assailants opened fire on her vehicle. Her driver and another occupant reportedly escaped the attack unharmed.

Orupabo was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention following the shooting. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, and the identity of the gunmen has not yet been established as of the time of filing this report.

Her death has sparked concern among residents and members of the event planning community in Port Harcourt, with many calling for a thorough investigation and improved security measures.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.

Taken out! A very good look at her with some measure of introspection should provide some insight into the circumstances that led to the obvious assassination of the subject victim. Police will investigate to a point and stop when they get to know ......... In life we must trust God to not hang out with the wrong people or promise what we cannot deliver. Some folks will insist on taking what they believe to be rightfully theirs or waste it all!!!!

In my line of work, I have seen people who survived gunshot wounds...and even as a teenager, I once knew a family whose relative survived being shot several times (injuries were so bad that members of the church we attented had to volunteer to donate blood).

The thing is, if the bullet hits a vital vein or artery, or the brain stem, nothing can be done. Even in developed countries, people die from gunshot wounds because they were shot in the 'right place'.

Check her sugar daddy and his wife quickly.

This is an assassination. The suspects should include her competitors, business associates as well as her social circle. Investigation should be made on her conflict history.

Looking at the lady you will see, she is getting event plannings courtesy of powerful men in PH.

Two scenarios highly responsible for her death.

1. She is collecting all events plannings in the city, because of her relationship with big men

2. She is going out with one big man and about take over the man completely from his wife.

Event planners, Alaga Iduro, Make up artists, even Caterers...most of women doing them are for public.

The police should investigate all the leads they have on this. Could be business related. Rivals may be thinking that she's cornering all the juicy events contracts that they should be getting.

This is one dead too many. Her killers must be brought to book.
