โกU.S. and Israeli officials increasingly view securing the Strait of Hormuz as the most realistic endgame of the conflict, shifting away from earlier ambitions like regime change, which they now consider unlikely to succeed.

Today, Trump postponed striking Iranโs energy infrastructure out of fear of fluctuations in U.S market prices. Yet for over twenty days, he has watched Gulf societies come under Iranian missile strikes, as Gulf economies incur tens of billions of dollars in damages, without this prompting any change in his decisions. When the Qatari Minister of Energy warned his American counterpart that striking Iranโs gas fields would inevitably trigger retaliatory strikes against gas fields in the Gulf, he was disregarded. They attacked Iran anyway, leaving the Gulf states to face their fate alone against Iranian missiles. Striking Iranโs gas fields did not create any strategic advantage, but rather inflicted massive losses upon the Gulfโs energy sector, which ultimately benefits American gas companies. Trump only speaks about the Strait of Hormuz or the price of oil. In his eyes, the Gulf societies are barely worth a single barrel of crude. |

dvkot:I think so too. Ukraine just hit the port of Primorsk, which is a major hub for Russian oil exports. About 15-20 percent of oil exports. I support Russia in this war but to be honest, I am not happy with Putin. Ukraine is accelerating its weapons development. Who would have thought four years ago that Ukraine would be able to strike Saint Petersburg. Ukraine now has its own ballistic missiles. Putin seems too lenient on Ukraine, the US/NATO would not fight this way. To be honest, this war has weakened Russia standing in the world. The reason the US can't confront Cuba military is because of Russia, but we all know that may change soon. We all know Cuba military is not strong and it could fall faster than Venezuela, unless Cuba decides to mount guerrilla warfare. I do not fully understand Putin plan for this war, because more of Russia neighbours have joined NATO. This war of attrition even though Russia is winning will be very expensive for Russia. Ukraine has little to lose and the EU will keep supporting Ukraine to weaken Russia. Many pro-Russia fanboys here will ignore these realities and continue to praise Putin. In my opinion, it would be better for Putin to declare a full war and commit 100 percent rather than continue with this special operation. |

Davida33:I couldn't have said it better, The war will get costly for Russia. Most of Ukraine weapons production are in NATO territory... They have nothing significant Russia can strike other than TPP.. Russia may occupy more land but it would come at a high cost of damaged refineries and energy facilities... |

I'm definitely not a supporter of dumb ass Putin, the lover of nazis in the west. But you guys are too emotional. The moment zelensky can go to the toilet without being shot at by Wagner, you declare he's on his path to victory. You have episodes in which you just let emotions overpower your brains like females often do. I don't know why you guys turn into little girls from time to time, I guess Ukrainian propaganda works quite well on you, or you lack thinking skills so much that it's all about emotions with you. |

Ghostagain:You are the one being emotional. Just because I support Russia does not mean I cannot criticise its military strategy. Russia will win the war of attrition, but it will be very expensive for Russia. Putin needs to change strategy. Because of this war, Russia cannot project military power as it used to before. Do you know Russia has been losing some territory because of Starlink cut-offs? Putin needs to either go all in or go home. But you know fanboys will always support everything blindly. |

Yeah, I'm the emotional one ๐
Yet by "Russia will gradually lose this war" you meant that "Russia will win" ? ๐ Female emotional logic. To me, it doesn't matter who wins, both sides are actually brothers. They are dumb enough to fight each other to entertain a retarded obese idiot in Washington. What I hate is all this emotional logic. Both Ukraine and Russia can kindly go to hell for all I care. But, I remain factual. I know who is getting fvcked the most and where this war is going. Davida33:

here is my read on the events of today the hegemony has exhausted its toolbox of policy measures for suppressing oil prices the only viable card it has left is "we have restarted negotiations" this coincides with calls within the wider west to put an end to the war for economic reasons is there any truth to the negotiations claim? the play by play of events is that the us did try to contact the persians as early as day 3 when it was clear a sudden collapse wasn't forthcoming by the next monday, when prices rose to $118, the yanks panicked and sent two urgent requests for ceasefire after their attempts to suppress prices succeeded with prices falling from $118 to as low as $90 they figured they had no reason to panic and mostly sent messages to intermediaries to gauge how persia was responding to entreaties four countries have been in contact with the persians nearly everyday, primarily through president pezeshkian and fm araghchi turkey, egypt, pakistan, oman there is a lot to talk about from questions like, did you hit that? to requests like, x or y in asia/africa/europe wants to coordinate for passage through the strait of hormuz over the weekend after the 48 hour deadline was made there was a 5 o clock alarm around the west and the gulf for better or worse, immense pressure was placed on the yanks to find a way out of the mess the yanks then contacted the four to inform the persians that they're finally ready to wrap this up and then they gave the four their list of conditions as has happened since the start of the war the messages were relayed to the persians this indirect communication where the four relayed a message from the yanks to persians is what is being billed as negotiations restart the persians have not agreed to anything the persians cannot even start or engage in negotiations before obtaining a consensus and mandate from the various power structures in iran starting with the big 3 (or 4 depending on who you ask) in the military generals mousavi (of the aerospace), tsangiri (of the navy), and vahidi (senior irgc general)/hatami (head of the artesh) on the political side, you need unanimous consent from qalibaf, ejei, jalili, and dehghan and the mullahs (clerics) will want a say lastly, there is no appetite for negotiations within the persian populace put simply, all talks from the americans about restarting negotiations is them trying to conjure up and shape a new reality one where they get to walk out when they want because prolonging the war no longer serves their interests that said if i were a betting man i would bet that the yanks are about to pull the trigger on a ground invasion this weekend and this talk about negotiations is to keep the markets calm throughout the week they are a broken record whenever they want to buy time to escalate, they pull the negotiations card it doesn't matter what the persians say or do simply saying they're ready for negotiations is enough for market participants to become hopeful and optimistic for a prompt resolution imho, as long as this specter of a ground invasion exists the persians must not engage with the americans the persians must not legitimize this very clear attempt to commit perfidy again make the yanks use the marines that are on their way and the paratroopers that are already in isn'treal and jordan or have them unilaterally call off the operation persia has done well so far but they must see this through this will not be over until the epstein coalition has tried a ground invasion and the charred bodies of their soldiers are all over the news there has been no pain yet it's just been three weeks of them keeping the price of oil below $120 through blatant market manipulation persia has a unique opportunity to break the hegemony they should seize this opportunity -Lord |

Confirmed assassination of Saeed Shamghadri, one of the missile engineers of the IRGC, was targeted and killed at his home in Qeytarieh, Tehran. 'This reptile was making missiles for the terrorist regime to fire at women and children, but he did not expect to be targeted by a missile himself.. Spare no one!!
