On sighting the title "Sheikh", one had thought that it was that notorious rabble-rouser called Sheikh Gumi.

Back to the topic at hand.

It's one's guess that the said Sheikh wasn't arrested merely for hosting PO, but must have said/done certain things capable of creating an upheaval in the country.

Many people tend to abuse the constitutional provisions of "freedom of speech" and "freedom of movement".

Freedom of speech and freedom of movement are not absolute, unrestrained and limitless.

For example, speeches that are capable of inciting members of the public to take laws into their hands can't be called freedom of speech in the real sense.

Similarly, freedom of movement doesn't include areas that are highly restricted.

The DSS would soon avail members of the public as to why the said Sheikh was arrested.

After all, it takes two to tango!

Security operatives believed to be personnel of the Department of State Services DSS have arrested a prominent Islamic cleric and former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Umar 24 hours after he hosted presidential hopeful, Peter Obi.

Meanwhile, Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has condemned and raised an alarm over the arrest of the religious leader.

Taking to his X account on Tuesday, the former Governor of Anambra State described the development as a threat to freedom of speech and movement.

He submitted that such troubling developments in Nigeria’s political space must be nipped in the bud.
