But the moment they see a black man with an Arab woman, all of that disappears. But you know what? As a Muslim, you always have to think the best about your brother. I'm not angry. I assume they just don't have the right knowledge. And that's why I want to educate them. The Prophet said in his final sermon, An Arab is not superior to a non-Arab, nor is a non-Arab superior to an Arab except by taqwa.

White is not superior to black, nor is black superior to white, except by taqwa. Her father looked at my character, my deen, whether I could protect and provide for his daughter. He didn't see my skin color as an issue. Maybe they never learned this. Maybe no one ever taught them. So I'm teaching them right now. This is what Islam actually says and we need to do better.

This isn't new to me. The Arab Muslims don't regard Black Muslims like anything. That is the reason I always told my Nigerian Muslim brothers not to lose sleep when they hear someone having any issue with some Arab Muslims. In Nigeria, before you know it they start burning and attacking Christians if they hear of a disagreement between the West and an Arab nation or person. The Arab Muslims don't see you as one. Just serve your Allah; let them serve their Allah. Don't carry their matter on your head because they don't even know or care if you exist. I know this is ignorance of those around our country. I hope they learn from this.

@seun, why are people’s comments being censored and banned when they did not violate any of the rules? Why bring a topic and post to front page if only certain types of comments that show sympathy are allowed? Don’t we have free speech on this site again?

If the people pushing it to front page don’t want to hear the truth then they need to keep the story in their head. It’s ok for Arabs to insult black people but if we write our opinion we get banned because of what? Why is Nairaland becoming so largely censored? Sudan is NOT fighting because it's not homogenous. The two warring sides (the Army, led by Burhan, and the RSF, led by Hemeti) are BOTH essentially Arab. The protests that ousted al-Bashir and ushered in a new government, the Hamdok government, and the groups fighting now, are all led by Arabs.

I don't get your point from the image you attached. Did he treat the black man differently? He didn't say he won't make paradise because he's black. Or maybe I'm the one not getting the context.

Yes, one of the warring sides, the RSF, has massacred Masalits and others, but this is opportunistic. What you got wrong was claiming that the ethnic inhomogeneity is the cause of the current war. It is not, since the two warring sides are Arabs. (I've removed essentially, not to confuse you.) No help from BBC for you on that one. Let's reiterate that for you: ethnic killings are happening in the current war. But ethnic inhomogenity is not the cause of the war.

Well, the koran in Surah Al-Imran (3:106-107) actually says that one of the punishments of those who end up in the "fire" is that they will be given black faces. A lot of modern Muslims try to reinterprete this verse and say that it is using figurative or symbolic language and that the phrase "black face" in the verse doesn't mean actual dark skin pigment. The problem is that practically ALL of the earliest, first generation Muslim scholars agreed that Surah 3:106-107 was referring to real black skin.

As for the hadith I shared, the sad thing about it is that this is a textbook example of manipulation by exploiting a
a person's low self-esteem for the purpose of recruiting them to carry out acts of violence on your behalf.

From what I have read further on this hadith, rhe black man’s name—as spoken by Muhammad—is Ju‘aal (Ibn al-Athir, Usd al-Ghabah 749). This is unfortunate because the word "Ju‘al" in Arabic was and still is a racial slur meaning a small, unattractive, black man. A Ju‘al is a black dung beetle which is typically found in the excrement of donkeys and camels.

I remember a BBC article (see below) about dating amongst Muslims in the West. Black African Muslims complained about the racism where Muslims from Arab countries and Southeast Asia do not accept their proposals or show interests in them. I think the article showed how it was worse for Black African Muslim ladies.
