Former Labour Party Vice-Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has urged his former boss, Peter Obi, to return to the LP if he loses the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential ticket.

Datti Baba-Ahmed made this call in an interview on Trust TV, monitored by DAILY POST.

He was speaking on the the 2027 general elections and the possibility of Obi getting the ADC ticket.

“I have much respect for Peter Obi. If he doesn’t get the ADC ticket, he should come back to the Labour Party please.

“I will work for him and try to get him the ticket in the Labour Party. I will try and mend the ways between him and whoever he may have offended,” he said.

Recall that Datti Baba-Ahmed was Peter Obi’s running mate under the platform of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.

That's where desperation is taking him to. A Yoruba adage says, someone pursuing two rats at a time will lose both. If he knows he is popular as his followers are saying,why can't he form his own party instead of looking for ready made party. With the new electoral act, he can't contest in Labor party after losing ADC ticket. You should all know that for now.
