The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government of destroying opposition to make President Bola Tinubu continuing staying in power.

Abdullahi made this allegation on Wednesday when he featured in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.

He was speaking on the forthcoming 2027 general elections and the crisis in different opposition political parties.

During military rule, Abacha created five political parties and encouraged them to make him the sole presidential candidate.

“What we are seeing now is that the APC government is destroying every other political party so President Bola Tinubu will remain the sole candidate in 2027.

We in the ADC have a duty to protect democracy and we will do everything legally possible to do that in Nigeria.

“We are not a conquered people and cannot be enslaved. We are citizens and we have rights in this country,” he said.

APC won’t implode because it is filled with typically greedy and selfish Nigerians, whom Tinubu will settle with the 53% of federation account that he has to himself.

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

This is a malaria-induced talk, if you ask me.

Let the so-called opposition parties get their act together instead of continuously blaming Tinubu for their woes.

Politicians are daily defecting to parties of their choice without qualms.

The hypocrisy is when politicians defect to the ADC, for instance, democracy is said to be flourishing but if they defect to the APC, Tinubu becomes an Abacha incarnate.

The simple truth is that no matter what they do or say, Tinubu's second term in office is already signed, sealed and delivered.

2027 is already around the corner!
