A family member came to my house 4 weeks ago and she has stage 4. She never looked it. Unless she tells you, you will never know. On chemo presently. The cancer cells are fast spreading like wild fire.

Well in this case I’m trying to give the posters some grace because most people who have never seen anyone with cancer before. They can only relate to the media images they’ve seen.

Usually the patients they see online have probably been sick for a long time plus side effects of chemo. So they have that typical hairless emaciated appearance.

That’s what makes cancer so bad. Some will never give you symptoms until late stage because it’s already started growing in uncontrolled and uncomfortable ways. Terrible disease!

People do shave their heads for cancer.
I have helped many many many of my patients shave off their hair before starting chemo.

The idea is that since chemo could make your hair fall off in uneven patches, it’s best to shave it off yourself in a nice even way so that it looks better.

I am a stage 3 bowel cancer survivor. I had surgery and chemo, and I am now 19 months post op and 10 months NED.

I dont know if it does anything but I boil and drink soursop leaves once a week.

The moment the hair starts falling off due to the effect of the chemo, most people prefer to just shave it off. No one will want to wake up with hair all over the bed
