One thing I have observed about this war is that people I expect to verify information before posting it are actually falling for propaganda.
You can support a particular nation while still being objective.

I was disappointed when I saw some people I respected here believing that Netanyahu was dead without any concrete proof. Even Iran did not provide any proof of his death, yet some people still believed it.
Now no one is talking about it anymore, as it is clear even to the blind that Netanyahu is alive.

This is similar to how in the early days of the war, Iran claimed that the Ayatollah was going to deliver a speech when he was reportedly dead, and some people here also believed it.
This is not only about Iran. Trump has also not been truthful about some things. I do not think anyone should believe what Trump says without proof.

I am glad that AI-generated videos is reducing, but please let’s be objective. Enough of the propaganda from both sides.
I am neutral in this war. I just want verified news, not propaganda, especially from the Iranian side.

Sadly, propaganda is a part of war. And in a fast-paced war like this, people will believe whatever is thrown out. It often takes a few hours to days for the truth (or the whole truth) to become known.

For a start, Israel (and the US) are known to hide information. They lie about everything, even down to casualties, interceptions, and rocket impacts. So it is very very very very difficult to believe whatever they say. In most cases, we rely on assessments, patterns, past behavior, and news reports to uncover the truth.

That said, claims of Nethanyahu's death were based on several observations, including the fact that he disappeared from the public, and he and his son stopped tweeting. It also coincided with Iranian attacks on major Israeli military installations.

The fact that Israel itself went on to post AI videos of Nethanyahu didn't help either and further buttressed the claims that he was dead. I generally employ a wait-and-see approach with these sort of news, but don't be surprised that people believed it. Every indication pointed it to it being true.

Posting AI videos is a normality for Israel. A few days ago, I posted a report here from CBS talking about how the Israeli government was posting fake AI videos on their official Twitter accounts. The specific video here was of an Iranian Basij member being blown up. The video was AI but looked very real.

Lastly, Iran wasn't going to come out and just tell the world that the Ayatollah is dead. It can affect morale, cause his hardcore supporters to behave irrationally, put his replacements at risk, cause a power vacuum, lead to widespread civil disobedience, all of which can affect the IRGC's ability to respond. So it made sense that they delayed the announcement.

Propaganda is an essential part of war to boost troops morales and also quieten home front. US employed it in Vietnam war when they lied about number of viet congs killed.

But what purpose does that serve here since Nigeria( I believe we all are Nigerians) is in no way involved in this war. Whose morales are these Propaganda boosting.
