Anybody supporting this government is a wicked person Back when petrol sold for ₦97 during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan, the atmosphere felt tense. People spoke up loudly. Protests filled the streets. Social media, even in its earlier days, was full of frustration. The general mood was simple, this is too much, something has to change. Fast forward to today, with petrol hovering around ₦1350 under President Bola Tinubu, the reaction feels different. Not entirely silent, no, but more divided. Some still complain openly, others defend the situation, often with phrases like “on your mandate we shall stand. It raises an uncomfortable question. Is it really about the price of fuel, or the person in charge? Maybe it’s politics. Maybe loyalty. Maybe fatigue. Or maybe people have just adjusted their expectations over time. But one thing is hard to ignore, the contrast is loud. Almost too loud to pretend it doesn’t exist. https://www.titopeblog.com/2026/03/fuel-was-97-under-jonathan-why-are.html?m=1 Lukuluku69 SlavaUkraini Mynd44 Seun Nlfpmod Lalasticlala

helinues:"Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi admitted that the 2012 "Occupy Nigeria" fuel subsidy protests were driven by political interests and opposition politics rather than genuine conviction, stating that he and his colleagues in the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) knew the subsidy was unsustainable but used it to target President Goodluck Jonathan. Fayemi described the 2012 protests against Jonathan’s administration as a political maneuver, acknowledging that the APC opposition at the time played politics with the truth about the necessity of subsidy removal. Despite the 2012 resistance, Fayemi maintained that removing the subsidy was necessary for the country's economic health. He contrasted Jonathan's hesitation to remove the subsidy with President Bola Tinubu’s swift action, describing the latter as an act of courageous leadership, though he urged better management of the aftermath.

Blame the corrupt Nigerian press that are headquartered in Tinubus Lagos. They have been bought. That's the issue.. They're busy juggling facts to dance to the whims and caprices of their masters at Abuja.. It is the press that sets the agenda. They are the one that beams the light on these issues thereby making sure that such topics stay relevant on peoples mind. But if you notice recently, the press only makes fleeting remarks about issues associated with bad governance, inflationary trends and high costs of basic essentials under Tinubu. They are on sabbatical. They now see no evil and as such talk no evil.. They will resume when someone else takes o wr.. |

Are you expecting the govt to protest against itself There is a reason for opposition to any power, if the opposition is not rising against the ruling power, it's either they support what the ruling power is doing, or they are just not ready to sacrifice for the people |

All protests were sponsored by Tinubu. The only organic protest that was masses backed was the endsars protest. Same Tinubu rallied databoyz to flood the internet with ethnic bigotry, claiming that IGBOs wanted to destroy lagos. All protest against GEJ was an ethnic group propelled charade. People fell for it but wont anymore. Southern unity is DEAD |

They don't have energy to protest now. Back then there was enough to eat so enough energy to stand at ojota. Now that they can't even afford meat, fish, eggs. Begging for the abandoned head of fish or using crayfish as substitute, where will they get the muscle to stand for hours protesting. |

There are two major reasons: 1. BAT is using security agencies like the Police and DSS to frighten and silent protestants and freedom of speech, just like Buhari did. If you speak against the cruel govt, you be arrested and detained. 2. Hypocrisy, tribalism and sentiments. Everyone wants the Truth but no one wants to be Honest. |
