Oga, I did all that --- even driving home was difficult. My hands were shaking.

I became exhausted and had to rest, but I couldn’t even sleep for five minutes. She noticed the labour signs early and I took her out early as well so she would have enough time to prepare herself. She delivered around 4:00 a.m. the next day. The delivery was smooth, even the neighbours were surprised when I told them she had given birth. She’s a strong woman.

A few of those who saw us that morning thought we were just going for casual outing......I made sure no one saw me when I was putting her bag in the car. She had already packed her things three days earlier.

Well, post partum hemmorhage is a common cause of death in women pregant with multiple babies. Even when everything has been done.

The thing about the uterus..or womb, is that to prevent bleeding, you got to have some 'tone' in the uterus. A pregnancy in mutliples 'stretches out the uterus' and causes something called atony, which can lead to severe bleeding and death.

And it ain't easy treating postpartum hemmorhage. It can mean spending hours on the operating table..far longer than one thinks dem go spend.

This was not medical negligence most likely. EVERYTHING was done, and it didn't end well this time.

You guys should stop blaming every death in hospital on 'negligence'. Sometimes, one does everthing by the book, and it doesn't work out.

May her soul RIP, childbirth isn't easy.

The day my wife was in labour I couldn't sleep that night, I was just rolling in bed until I got a call from my sister that she delivered safely. The kinda relief I felt eh!
You were in bed while your wife was in the hospital labouring to have your child? Do you know how comforting it would have been for your wife if she knew that you were right outside in the waiting room hoping and praying for a safe delivery?

I have stopped responding to social media posts denigrating doctors. Its of no use. Most of those making the comments as dvcmb as fvck and dont know medical processes. Once someone dies in a hospital, its automatically the doctors' fault

Was this a vaginal delivery or a caesarean section?. It is important to know this because it would be reckless and unprofessional to subject the patient to the rigors of a vaginal birth in these circumstances. Secondly, how can a properly conducted ultrasound examination miss two additional babies?. Nigeria happened to this woman and her family.
Did it occur to you the patient may have declined a section? Nigerian women ar3 notorious for such l. Would you then blame the doctors?
About scans, it is dependent on the sonographer skills, and not the fault of the doctors

I had already explained to someone why I went home.

I left her in safe hands ----it’s my elder sister’s maternity clinic, and she handled the delivery herself. I was very nervous that day, and she asked me to go home.

I had planned to stay with her since it’s our first child, but fear overwhelmed me that day; all the courage I had disappeared. My sister didn’t want any form of distraction from me, which is why she asked me to leave. Even when I got home, I didn’t let her rest ----I kept calling until she started complaining that I should relax because she was in good condition. 😃

Just imagine the kinda distraction I would have caused if I had stayed at the clinic, I can't stand seeing her in pain...... I’ve never been that nervous in my life.

I'm very sure the next one won't be like the first, I don get mind now. I'll stay with her from start to finish.

I happen to work in medicine and I am trained to understand and treat post partum hemmorhage, and have treated and even helped prevent it, so I know what I am talking about, son.

And get a hold of your emotions, man.

Ha I hope the hospital did not put her through the stress of vaginal delivery when CS should have been a safer option.

May her soul find rest.
No woman can deliver more than 2 babies without CS... Humans weren't designed for that.

May her soul rest in peace.

This one of the reasons I strongly dislike men who abuse their wives. Birthing carry too much wahala for women.

Kudos to all mothers here and out there. May you live long in peace and good health to enjoy your families.

These are some of the unacceptable variables in our national reality. However, the practice and administration of medicine should not be "dependent". It is a definite science and process. Lack of the forgoing in the Nigerian reality is the reason we are daily confronted with unfortunate news and events in Nigeria.

I'm sure she will understand if you won't be there since she will be in safe hands, thank God for the safe delivery

It was at my elder sister’s maternity clinic. She noticed I was fidgeting and told me to go home, relax and wait for the good news. She said she could handle it.

I went home because I knew I wouldn’t be able to bear seeing my wife in pain. She delivered around 4 a.m.

I even turned into a motivational speaker by force that day, but my wife I was encouraging was actually braver than I was. 😃
oh dear, congratulations 👏 baba💯
