A Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has reportedly issued a 24-hour ultimatum to his loyalists to apprehend a TikToker who challenged his stance on political campaigns in the region

The development comes after a viral video by popular internet personality, “Funny Thinker,” identified as Wale Owokanpa Aburumoku, in which he openly criticised Igboho’s comments against opposition figures campaigning in Yorubaland.

Earlier in March, Igboho publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.

In a video seen by SaharaReporters, Igboho said: “President Tinubu for a second term. We don’t want any Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar here.”

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the TikToker did not hold back, directly confronting the separatist leader and questioning his authority over political activities in the region.

“Chief Sunday Igboho, you are the one that Bola Ahmed Tinubu granted freedom, not us,” he said.

“I appreciate the fact that you are being grateful to Tinubu because he is your helper. But it is wrong for you to threaten anyone to call Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi to come and campaign in Yorubaland. That is wrong.”

He continued, questioning Igboho’s influence and warning against what he described as anti-democratic rhetoric.

“You are not the one feeding us in Yorubaland. What is your worth in Yoruba land? Even Tinubu cannot issue such a threat you gave. The President understands the beauty of democracy, so he cannot say that.”

The TikToker further cautioned that such statements could backfire politically.

“You should be careful so that you won’t even implicate Tinubu yourself,” he added.

In a twist, the comedian declared that despite not being a supporter of Obi, Igboho’s alleged position had pushed him to take a stand.

“Of course, personally I don’t like Obi, but he has every right to campaign in Yorubaland and anywhere he wishes,” he said.

“With what you said, I would even start campaigning for Obi from today. Come and do your worst.”

However, in what appears to be a direct response, a voice note allegedly linked to Igboho and obtained by SaharaReporters captured a stern directive to one of his loyalists.

“Hello Adebas, both Alado and Funny Thinker, you must bring both of them to my house in Ibadan within 24 hours,” the voice in the recording said.

“If you don’t bring them to me, I swear to God, I can’t tell you what would happen.”

When contacted, Igboho’s aide, Koiki, dismissed the allegation, insisting that no such threat was issued.

“Fake news. Nothing of such. Like I said, nothing of such threats from chief,” he said.

The controversy comes amid heightened political tension in the Southwest following Igboho’s recent declaration of support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

In a widely circulated video earlier reported by SaharaReporters, Igboho publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.

In the video, Igboho said: “President Tinubu for a second term. We don’t want any Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar here.”

He further stated that even after Tinubu completes his eight years in office, he would be urged to continue as President of Nigeria.

The secessionist leader also warned that no one should bring conversations about former Vice President Atiku or former Labour Party presidential candidate Obi to Southwest Nigeria, insisting that President Tinubu “owns” the region.

Reacting to his stance, the Yoruba Union (Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá) distanced itself from the agitator, accusing him of abandoning the Yoruba Nation struggle for political interests.

“We unequivocally distance ourselves from Sunday Igboho’s selfish act of abandoning Yoruba Nation agitation to campaign for APC,” the group said.

“It is unacceptable to trade the blood and suffering of our people for selfish political considerations.”

The group further stressed that the Yoruba struggle was rooted in sacrifice and not partisan alignment.
