I recently got a Dell laptop, but 1 problem I've noticed is that the brightness setting doesn't work, whether from shortcut or from main setting.

The thing is if I set the brightness to the highest or lowest, it doesn't effect except i off and on the system... What could be the problem please?

Most likely Vga /display driver is missing. Or maybe the screen had been changed to an inferior screen.

HERE ARE THE ISSUES I HAVE, WHICH ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO SECTIONS:

p = PROBLEM

S = SOLUTION

SECTION ONE

P1: WHEN I CONNECT MY CHARGER TO MY LAPTOP, THE CHARGING LED WON'T SHOW, AND THE LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON

S1: EXCEPT I DISCONNECT THE CHARGER, THE LAPTOP WILL THEN TURN ON AFTER PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEN THE LAPTOP FINALLY TURNS IS ON THE CHARGER WILL POWER AND CHARGE IT

NOTE: ONCE THE LAPTOP IS ON, IT STARTS OPERATING AS IT SHOULD BE. EXAMPLE: I CAN TURN IT ON AND OFF, AND IT WOULD RESPOND.

SECTION TWO:

P2: MY LAPTOP ALSO OCCASIONALLY PUTS UP A WHITE SCREEN WHILE I AM USING IT TO WORK.

S2: ONCE I PRESS THE POWER BUTTON TO PUT THE PC to sleep and press it on again, the PC COME ON AND WORKS PREFECTLY

WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS, AND WHAT MIGHT BE THE ISSUE, AND WHAT IS THE PERMANENT SOLUTION?

update your windows driver... go to update on windows install all update you see there. Also hope your laptop windows is activated

is there any ibadan here in ibadan that can help reload BIOS?

From your explanations, it suggests a faulty component on the motherboard or outdated BIOS.

Solution:

There is need for physical examination of the motherboard to check if there’s corrosion or blown up component.

Also:

Update your BIOS to the latest version and make sure you also update all the necessary drivers and firmware.

Then:

Run Dell Diagnostics app to know if it will show any component failure.

If it's a removable battery, remove the battery first and don't plugin in the charger.
That's all you can do till a technician diagnose it.

The more you delay the more corrosion and rust cause damage to the motherboard. Kindly take it to a technician asap for fix to avoid losing your motherboard. Thanks.

There's nothing else you can do now, this is probably a corrupt BIOS issue.

If you're in lagos, I can fix it for you.

Ohhhhh that has to be true, sadly I'm at the heart of the country, would take it to the engineers here, any idea of the possible cost

install bios . you need a flasher for that.

The keyboard depends on the availability. Lenovo keyboard can be expensive.

Man, I feel the struggle with the spam filters. Honestly, even with scanners like RoboSAM, I’ve found that most "unsolvable" software sluggishness usually boils down to bloated startup entries.

If anyone’s PC is crawling, check your msconfig or Task Manager startup tab before going nuclear with a reformat. Half the time it's just ten different "updaters" fighting for RAM.

Also, a quick tip for the malware stuff: if the scanner won't even open, try renaming the .exe to something random like pudding.exe. Sometimes that's enough to trick the process-killer scripts in the malware.
