Nigerians Could Beg Tinubu For More Than Two Terms — Oluwo Of Iwoland by SarcasticWords(op): 4:47pm On Mar 29
The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has stated that recent economic and governance reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu could prompt many Nigerians to beg him for more than two terms.

The monarch made the remarks in a statement issued through his spokesperson, Alli Ibrahim, to commemorate President Bola Tinubu’s 74th birthday, where he assessed the administration’s policies and their perceived impact on the country.

According to the statement, “the President’s leadership style and reform-driven agenda have begun to reshape key sectors of the economy, drawing attention from various quarters across the country.

Many Nigerians may call for a constitutional review to enable Tinubu serve more than two terms in office,” the monarch said.

The Oluwo described the President as a decisive leader, noting that his administration had pursued policies aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges within the Nigerian economy.

He pointed to measures such as exchange rate unification and increased oil production as part of broader reforms designed to stabilise the economy and attract foreign investment.

The administration has demonstrated a firm approach in tackling issues that previously hindered economic growth. Such steps had contributed to changes in key financial indicators,” he added.

The monarch stated that Nigeria’s foreign reserves had risen significantly in recent months, noting figures ranging between $49.5 billion and $50.45 billion as of late February and March 2026.

He also referenced what he described as improvements in the value of the naira and increased inflows of foreign capital, attributing these developments to ongoing economic restructuring efforts.

He highlighted initiatives such as local government autonomy, increased allocations to states, and infrastructure projects as part of the administration’s broader policy framework.

Local government autonomy is taking effect, states are receiving higher allocations, and major road projects are ongoing across the country,” the monarch said.

The traditional ruler noted that previous administrations had attempted similar reforms but were constrained by public resistance and political pressures, which limited their implementation.

He added that the current administration’s willingness to sustain its policies could influence future economic stability, stating that consistent implementation would be key to maintaining progress.

1. We recently told our community vigilante group that we will no longer need their services because everywhere is safe and secure, we literally sleep outside at night.

2. 24/7 non stop power supply in my area, I have to periodically switch off my fridge.

3. Things are so cheap in the market, in fact the market women are so kind and polite they dash me food stuffs.

4. Buy 1 litre get 3 litres free! That is the promo filling stations in my area are annoucing on a daily basis. Except for motorists, people rarely buy fuel because of 24/7 light.

These are few out of the numerous wonderful blessings Tinubu has bestowed onto my life and that of Nigerians and for that he deserves to stay in power for as long as he likes.

What about you? How has Tinubu made life easy for you?

This was what I have been looking at esp with the recent political happening

Apc is positioning it self for a one party state where all the parties would "beg" to have tilumbu as there only presidential candidate.

This trick is from the old play block that abacha was already implemented before his demise in 1998 where all the political parties where " begging" abacha to contest that he was the best thing after sliced bread

I just look and smile

Why do people in power forget to easily

At this point, one has to wonder whether such remarks are grounded in reality or simply out of touch. Honestly, it sounds like he may have missed his Sunday-Sunday medication.

Leadership should be about accountability, not entitlement or unrealistic projections of public sentiment.
