LordBiden:Yar adua ran the economy on obasanjo’s blue prints There was no policies of his own Jonathan built the economy solely on his one blue prints and policies that drove the economy Spot the difference Yar adua was a good president no doubt but don’t compare him to Jonathan on economy drive. Jonathan was just too kind and naive, he trusted those around him so easily and failed to see the dangers That’s why I like Tinubu, the man go look you for eye tell you say you be betrayal and him go remove you and there’s nothing you can do about it because he knows how to bend/manipulate the law to allow him have his way. |

@Mr poser, the question you should be asking is if the economy actually paid you that amount or if it was borrowed to pay you? I can remember vividly that salaries were owed and borrowed during this era |

nairalanda1:So how much is the cost of crude oil now? |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by nairalanda1(m): 3:51pm On Mar 28 |
donmik:Well, you don';t have to agree with me, or believe me, but what I have told you is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I am not here to convince you to vote for tinubu or that tinubu is a good leader, or that GEJ was good or bad...I am just here to tell you why nigeria is the way it is, and what we need to do to improve it. You can accept all I say or reject it, and still support your hero. As for me, I no send our leaders or the oppostion, or even sowore, and his ilk. Na the same people to me. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by nairalanda1(m): 4:00pm On Mar 28 |
bnovative:Before I continue, I am not here to defend or support tinubu...let's get that clear. I'm here to show you why Nigeria is the way it is. You can hear me, understand me, and sitll say your hero is better than their hero. But whatever you do, do not call me a supporter of any politican. Crude oil is above 100 dollars per barrel, infact, it is rising The problem is, from March 2014 to february ending 2015, crude has ranged between 20-80 dollars per barrel (except for brief periods when oil prices were above 100 dollars per barrel in 2021-2, and in 2025. )> So, in order to keep things running, Nigeria borrowed money. Any oil windfall has to pay off the debts we incurred in the lean years, and thus no cash for subsidy no more. That is why APC is a failure, they promised in 2015, that they would diversify government earnings from oil. They didnt do that, and that is why there is no money for fuel subsidy, and why electricity subsidy money has not been paid since 2014. Thank you for listening to my ted x talk. |

villagereporter:I'm not here to stop you from serving gej nor am I here to stop the apc guys from serving tinubu My purpose here is to show you what is wrong with nigeria, and why things are wrong. You can listen and still say you support GEJ, i don;t care, but I cannot pretend that either gej or tinubu are good leaders, based on what I know. If it makes you angry, it's on you, son. |

| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by donmik: 7:13pm On Mar 28 |
nairalanda1:If removing subsidy now by Tinubu is the best move, what has he done with it after the removal? How has it improved our economy after the removal? And why is he borrowing and doing so at the fastest rate than ever after the removal? Where is the borrowing helping the economy as well? |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by donmik: 7:17pm On Mar 28 |
nairalanda1:You sound like one well educated but you made a single mistake from the go by saying this administration did the best thing by removing our sweat into its pocket. No sane Nigerian in this pain will ever accept your take. Foe where... Thanks for your time sha |

BrickandLace:so my not supporting Tinubu means there is something wrong with me? Right |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by BrickandLace(f): 8:42am On Mar 29 |
Y nairalanda1:You got the wrong guy. You're more of a Tinubu supporter than I am. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by nairalanda1(m): 9:25am On Mar 29 |
BrickandLace:No, I support the right of the free market I don't support tinubu. Man is corrupt and.man is also a looter. And he isn't doing what Nigeria needs to progress as a nation. Good morning and grow more mature son. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by nairalanda1(m): 9:30am On Mar 29 |
donmik:So you want us to go into debt because you want cheap fuel? Once you understand how subsidy works, you will see it is not about taking anybody's sweat It is taking tomorrow's money to solve today's problems and also stflijg domestic production in the name of cheap fuel or cheap power It has nothing to do with Tinubu or Obi And if you call me an APC supporter you miss the point totally and you are being abusive too to boot. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by obonujoker(op): 10:00am On Mar 29 |
nairalanda1:You are deceiving yourselves. Which debt?? With the removal of Fuel subsidy, is the government not owing worse than what Jonathan was owing. Keep deceiving yourselves o |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by nairalanda1(m): 12:41pm On Mar 29 |
obonujoker:Ah,another one of those whom went to Ojota with Tinubu As for me, my eyes were opened in 2012. Since then, subsidy must go. So no dey talk about subsidy unless you want.more debt son. |

Nextjs:^^^ This isn't true. Despite their very well known problems, they were (and still are) an EU member. Membership comes with strict rules on how member economies should be run - and breaking those rules can be very costly (as Greece eventually found out). So far at least, Italy has played by the rules. Nigeria still has a very, very long way to go before getting to single digit inflation rates. Italy had those numbers in 2007. |

xxxx999jon:You are not being sincere to yourself here, why are you calling Emefiele, was he the finance minister, was he the head of fiscal policy? Instead of you to mention APC name, no you carefully avoided the main culprits like osibanjo and other APC members. I know you wouldn't have mentioned Buhari name if he was still alive. Hypocrisy at its peak |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by xxxx999jon: 8:00pm On Mar 29 |
mycar:before you call people names on a public fora it shows the kind of mentality you are and the kind of person you are.. I won't stoop low to that level because of a baseless argument that won't add a dime into my account. The finance minister is not the supervisor of the CBN governor.. That entity ought to be independent entity, Emefiele created means and ways.. Buhari was the minister of petroleum without both Nigerian crude oil won't have been sold in futures trade as a collateral loan from AfDB. Get your facts right before you call people names on the internet. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by mycar: 10:05pm On Mar 29 |
xxxx999jon:Even an elementary school child knows that the CBN governor does not have the power to authorize any loan. I wonder why you did not mention APC government but rather singled out two people. That tells the type of person that you are. |
| Re: Goodluck Jonathan Really Tried For This Country And It's Citizens by xxxx999jon: 7:04am On Mar 30 |
mycar:why some people can't read. Was Buhari not mentioned in that post? Is he not the head of APC government? Keep on deluding yourself that your life will be better because of any political party in power. Enjoy it m |
