Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday paid a condolence visit to a former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over the latter’s mother’s death.

Mr Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice-President, disclosed this in a post on his official X handle on Monday.

DAILY POST reports that El-Rufai’s biological mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, died in Cairo, Egypt, on Friday.

The former governor has since then been receiving dignitaries at his residence in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

During the visit, Shettima described the deceased as a woman of great virtue and a pillar of strength for her family.

He offered prayers for the repose of her soul and for the El-Rufai family to find the strength to navigate the difficult period of mourning.

Tinubu didn't betray El-Rufai it was the Northern players who Tinubu consulted that told him to drop El-Rufai. From what I have garnered the man has multiple enemies over many decades, one elite northerner described him as a man who makes one new enemy daily, he is that kind of fellow.

Tinubu wanted to work with El-Rufai but the northern elite don't want him near power becausthey see him an someone who has no allegiance to any principled position and he has a tendency to abuse power.
