In the video, the victim struggles to cover herself as her attackers laugh and pull her around. A male student is seen observing the attack without intervening, while another records the incident.

The incident has sparked immediate outrage, with Nigerians tagging the Benue State Government, Benue State Police Command, and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, demanding urgent intervention.

Social media users condemned the harassment. #FemVitalHub described the incident as “heartbreaking and unacceptable,” highlighting failures in parenting, school supervision, and moral guidance. #atakapapi suggested implementing juvenile justice measures, while #BiggCoin_ called for imprisonment of the perpetrators.

On Facebook, Wuese Daniel criticized the students for shameless behaviour and noted that recording the incident likely aimed to further humiliate the victim. Emma Nuel urged the school management to identify and hand over the culprits for legal action, emphasizing the need for justice.

This event adds to a series of high-profile bullying cases in Nigerian schools. Earlier this month, the Edo State Government ordered the arrest of students at Igbinedion Education Centre involved in a viral attack showing two male students beating another student. In 2024, the Lead British International School in Abuja faced national backlash after a video surfaced of a female student being repeatedly slapped by a classmate.

The Benue incident underscores ongoing concerns over bullying and student safety in Nigerian schools, prompting calls for stronger oversight and accountability measures.
