I can remember sometime back on this forum, how these people used to take pride in the fact that there was no kingship in Igboland but all of a sudden, everybody wants to be king by fire by force
Why should a people be even proud of the fact that they lack leadership? Stable Leadership is a testament to the fact that a society is sane and well organized.

You are correct. They are playing catchup up and do not understand that kingship titles were forged with blood and battles. You cant just wake up one day and declare yourself a king. Lol.

Igbos even have a popular saying that Igbos do not have kings. Igbo enwe eze. All these self declared eze and igwe are just causing trouble because they have zero clue on how kingship system works.

Eze Ndiigbo means the leader of the Igbos. He is the community chairman, he will serve his tenure till the next election.

If you understood the difference between eze,obi,igwe,you would realize that eze simply means leadership and not king…Igbos have had kings dating as far back as 1043 AD…. though these words are used interchangeably but they can mean different things depending on the concept of use at the time.

When you hear eze indigbo,or eze Igbo,it’s simply means the leader of the igbos in that area,it doesn’t mean he is a king,it is the unnecessary ceremony of choosing that leader that is causing all these fuse..

The Hausas and Fulanis all have their emirs and sarki outside their original states and regions as mere leaders.

Although I don't see anything wrong with this since they only act as chairmen and brother to those from their own cultural heritage
