This might just be the longest thread on NLNG GT recruitment
The 2007 GT recruitment was the first thread on Nairaland to cross 100 pages.

Hey, I know it's easier said than done but get your mind off it. Also, checking this thread everyday doesn't help. If you do that reduce how frequently you come on here.
Personally I'm counting down till September, releasing myself of every expectation between now and then because by faith it is already done.
No expectations = No disappointment = Peace.
Take care of yourself ❤️

I hope this is the week they send the mails, and let us all know our fates. I'm at the edge of insanity right now-need that closure real quick!!!

Very true. Best to just get your mind off it till when it comes

Happy New Month of April!

We pray and believe that our names will be amongst the successful candidates to receive invitation to NLNG Assessment Centre 2026.

It's cannot be April Fool for us but rather April Full assess to become gainfully employed as a staff of NLNG.

Let's keep hope Alive and stay on course.

Happy New Month

That was because the recruitment period spanned more than 3years so no one knows what what was going on.

I just thought of something funny what if the next stage turns out to be medicals 😆. I mean after the first test, most people thought the second test was going to be accessment/interview. Just what if? 😌

Do you know if the last set wrote 2 tests or just one test? I believe it was 2022 set last right.

At some point I what you said crossed my mind. Because the nature of this second test was a bit interesting. But I doubt they will not want to test our presentation capability. It's not impossible either 🤭.

If the company was very humourous they could send everyone regret mail then write April fools for those that pass as they continue reading or sending a second mail to validate it's April fools

Omorr e for really funny ehn😂😂
I can just imagine how quiet this thread would instantly become, cause no one would want to talk about receiving a regret mail 💔😂😂

Today is the induction of the new CEO. I doubt we’d be getting that mail this week.

Please share the MAP document or a link to where I can download it.
Thank you.

Anyone else that can, please do.

Godhasdonewell:
@airsay is exactlyyyyyy… is saw his factfinding question in that MAP. The screenplex about deciding which charity to receive corporate sponsorship… It wasn’t verbatim thought but that’s his exact question if you think deep just that synonyms were used e.g NGO in place of Charity…

Going by the 2007 and 2013 thread, they wrote two tests. It was only the 2022 thread that one test was written.

In the last recruitment in 2022, if I remember correctly, before they sent assessment invitation emails, they asked people without correct or complete documentation to upload or send it via email.

New MD with new GTs, hmmm. That’s mirroring the 2013 set. A new CEO had resumed just before we resumed. Interesting dynamics because he was very very “hands on” with us during our training. First name basis. We called him by first name and he was cool with it. My brain nearly bursted 🤯. Calling a Nigerian CEO by first name!!!! My liver cut.

Years after I had left, I saw him standing somewhere at MM2 departure lounge. I walked up to him, called him by his first name and he was a bit surprised. I quietly mentioned “Bonny” and “GT” and he smiled. Very friendly guy. We talked briefly about how I was doing since leaving. He too had left Bonny back to his primary assignment.

Also met the DMD (from my time), again at MM2 last year. Introduced myself and again he was super friendly. He too was no longer at Bonny and was doing something LNG related for some company in Lagos.

Management there were super approachable on a personal basis

Hmm.. Why would a CEO anyone leave his green pasture?
Maybe he found a greener pasture. Just thinking out loud

The position is on a tenure basis, MD/CEO must be a Nigerian from Shell, and tenure spans 5 years, DMD from NNPC-L, not sure of the number of years for that.

So when your tenure as the CEO ends you’ll go, whether you like it or not, whether you’re ready or not.
Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Mark05: 8:44pm On Apr 01
A thought that crossed my mind was new CEO should not mean a delay in our recruitment. However when you gave the analogy that even your set got a new CEO and if my memory serves me correctly I believe it's your batch 2013 that waited 4 years right and got called in 2017.
So am like that does not seem like a good news lol. But I believe things will not get delayed this time. Hopefully!
But communication goes both ways if they do intend to delay we would appreciate a proper communication in this day and age.

But I am currently less worried about the process. Just hoping within April we get a feedback. Be it any day in the month.

At some point Airsay low-key predicted AC to take place ending April or in May which things seem to be going in that direction.

I think NLNG has gone past that.

The CEO for the 2013 set was 2 years into his tenure when they advertised the vacancy, and left a year to their resumption, so I’m not sure that the change in leadership had a negative impact to the process, if at all, I feel the new CEO would’ve been the one to ensure that the recruitment was completed against all odds.

So going by that, the emergence of this new commander 😂 should give a beacon of hope to the swift completion of the process, my thoughts though.

I think Babs left just before 2013 set resumed. I don’t think it was a year before resumption. And it is reported that he insisted that that process MUST be completed. Rumour wey reach our ear was that the business CAME close to cancelling the entire thing. Rumour o!

Oh okay, I always thought he left in 2016 and you guys resumed in September 2017.

Also, I’ve been curious to ask, when you were leaving NLNG, what was on your mind?

I’m thinking you’d be like “See me leaving this company I almost wanted to give anything just to get in” 😂

I sha wish you’ll tell us the story around the time you left, don’t know if you’ve mentioned it before though.

lol! That story is not one I’m keen on sharing. What I learned though is that sometimes you think something is the be all and end all and when you get it it’s almost like “That was it?”

Today I’ve been up for 8 hours trying to get some AI stuff working on AWS. And e no gree. And I go drag am until e gree. If I had been in the business, I would have been doing something in Supply Chain (which was what I was doing at the time). I don’t know if I would have been happy doing that today. Time and chance I guess

Wow, just wow, I think I can relate to the feeling of “that’s it?”, anyway, can’t wait to experience it for NLNG 😁

And it’s nice to know that you feel happier doing what you do currently.
Re: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Yamskii: 8:07am On Apr 02
Illusion of wants. Lol. We constantly chase what we don’t have and begin to chase more once we achieve the previous goals. Many of us here would also experience this. Everybody wants NLNG job now. 2-4 years down the line, that euphoria is off and you’re chasing the next thing again 😅. It’s just life

Hahaha, this is interesting and it once again proves the statement that says "Man's need are insatiable" lol

I'll like to know though, what was it like working in Supply Chain, was it a full time desk job? or did it involve a bit of traveling?
I also heard that NLNG has a good remote culture for the business guys, where you necessarily do not have to be physically present at the job each day, how true is that?

And finally, depending on how much information you are allowed to share on here and how much spare time you have, could you GIST us on what your day to day work life was like during your time working there?

Thank you Sir.
