TERRORISTS WILL HAVE NO PLACE TO HIDE AND THEIR SPONSORS WILL ALSO CRY, BECAUSE THEY WILL TURN AGAINST THEIR SPONSORS. EVERYONE IN NIGERIA WILL BE SURPRISED. MARK THIS DAY. See levels. I am yet to see the impact of forest guards though. Because there's still kidnappings on the highway |

None of the nothern states that is riddled with bandits and terrorists have deemed it fit to establish security outfits like this, but it was easy to establish sharia police…they don’t want to fight the war on terrorism cos they are complicit. Gumi and some of their present and past leaders have been frolicking with these terrorists that are killing their people, these terrorists have never attacked anywhere near their leaders and politicians live, since the deliberation about state police has been going on,what has been the language of the nothern leaders and elders? |

Very commendable. The use of technology like drones will also be very effective in gathering intelligence and monitoring movement of criminal elements. In Imo, governor Uzodimma is terrified of anything that will be held against him in his future ambition....he allows herders roam about with their cattle....and is yet to inaugurate the state forest guards. The man will even allow herders to graze their cattle in the government house. |

It is very easy for them to arm youths with weapons in the name of tools to fight kidnappers (indirectly for their own selfish interest) but you hardly see the mobilize youths with empowerment to improve their well-being. |

What donth se guards really do? ..... are they that large in number to effectively cover the forests? .... ...how many operate in a group? ...I can see them being ambushed. Why not invest in drones for surveillance? ..and have a well trained and armed rapid response squad? ...and hav same roaming the highways in various unmarked vehicles to counter highway bandits? We need to do better if we're serious .... these gimmicks wouldn't help much. |

There is also the other side of security as you prepare to domesticate security.whenever the Federal government makes it lawful. Communication and intelligence. Build and operations centre and equip it with dedicated statewide radio communications and direction to operation units, and a dedicated emergency response number open to the public. Start to framework crises reporting mechanisms, incident coverage and response times. Start to build and equip crime laboratories, analytical capacity, engage criminologists, psychologists and all the professionals you can lawfully tap. Prepare everything you are legally permitted to because the way insecurity is going it is only a matter of time before the Federal government admits it cannot do it alone. When that collapse eventually happens one thing you don't want is a lacuna. |

Franking:Drones can be useful but they are not cost effective. It is not as if crimes are committed in pre planned places and times so you know when and where to place your drones. The best weapon against crime is communication both as infrastructure and as a culture. The deadliest forms of crime are interpersonal in which both the victim and/or witness can or should be able to communicate immediately and get a quick response. It is when these are in place technology like drones and capacity like roving patrols and quick response teams can be effective. Communication to report emergencies and inhouse communication amongst security units and agents is critical. That is where the state should put it's money first. Aim for a response time of 5 minutes within the state capital and fifteen minutes in rural areas. That should be the kind of target the architects should strive for. |

I saw a video of some youths up north combating terrorists with dane guns Guess what, they were able to hold the terrorists at bay even with the dane guns, you can imagine what damage they would inflict if they had something as sophisticated as shot guns. The Nigerian govt does not really care about the safety' of Nigerians sadly you, that was why they did everything possible to make ESN look like criminal, if not for ESn the east would have been experiencing attacks from these terrorists more frequently like in jos, kwara, ondo, kogi etc |

| Re: Governor Mbah Arms Forest Guard For Rainy Season War On Crime by Franking: 7:26am On Apr 02 |
Reference:We are talking about forest guards who will need to flush out kidnappers and killer herdsman from the forest. Drones will be very ineffective in the regard. Simple. |
