nairalanda1:I would be glad to know how many times you as an individual has collected this money you mentioned which is being shared by the Nigeria government. Nigeria government does not even help their poor citizen when compared to the US government. Programs like food stamps, medicaid, section 6 housing , student grants etc are all available in the US for qualifying individuals.. The fundamental problem of Nigeria is corruption. Not subsidy and not about spending on the poor. A lot of resources are not used for what they were budgeted for. Elected officials lack accountability, they misuse public fund without fear of consequences. |

nairalanda1:I couldn't agree more with the points made above. You are right. My stand still maintains that being more genuinely spiritual than canal is still ok. |

RollinTNDA:Okay I agree with you but initially you made it seem as though the place of genuine prayer to the creator is irrelevant. Man without connection to his spiritual source is doomed. |

oweniwe:If the moon or space is not atmospheric, that mean is more denser than earth which has gravity, to me that's easier to operate in. Or in other tot, a special carier can be sent to space to deliver engines to propel the object back home. |

nairalanda1:The tax mantra guru on the beat again. Oga, let the poor breathe. We are not a rich nation by any standard. Preach against endemic corruption in the land, rather than putting destructive burdens on the poor men of the land. |

Akalia:Faith + Work = Creation We dwell on faith so much without action Oyinbo balance their faith with action that's why they go far technological discoveries and medicine that saved you and me till this day... Relying on faith alone is what Nigerians specialize in and what scammers like Jerry eze are exploiting. GEAVEN HELPS THOSE YOU HELP THEMSELVES. TJOSE WHO TAKE ACTION NOT TO BE SHOUTING AMEN LIKE SHEEP I RECEIVE . HOW U GO RECEIEVE WETIN U NO WORK FOR. |

When you look at the enormous streak of flames coming out of that massive, massive rocket and realise 4 people are seated and strapped in near the very top, their lives hanging in the hands of a launch computer you just marvel. Anything goes wrong and you bury a ceremonial empty coffin. Now that takes guts. |

Raphwell:We need the kind of cultural revolution that happened in China. Rid ourselves feudalism first. Without a heart for enterprise and aspiration we remain spectators. America is a country of great rules, law and order. But it is also a great country of bound breakers. Those willing to risk it all. To climb Mount Everest, 'just because it is there'. |

dequir:I speak against corruption and also speak on the need for an effective tax system In fact, if more NIgerians paid tax, they would be incentivised to deal with the corrupt leaders if they slip up. Better realize that supporting an effective tax regime does not mean supporting corruption or inefficency or stealing. |

Akalia:Are we really sure the focus of these prayers is what you’re saying? Or are they actually centered on gaining the very things of this same fading world you speak about? When people pray for favor, isn’t it usually for success in jobs, marriages, businesses, and opportunities—all within this passing world? At the same time, while they pray, shouldn’t they also be motivated to work hard, stay disciplined with their finances and businesses, act justly and honestly in their financial dealings and everyday relationships, and remain innovative in their thinking—consistently creating real value? Even the Bible urges that when you pray, you should avoid vain repetition—it creates the impression that God neither hears nor listens. Yet, these same people go on to steal, cheat, and engage in vicious activities, only to return the next morning with even more intense prayers, driven more by routine, appearance, or religious habit than by genuine transformation. |

sonnie10:Your school fees (if you went to a government school), your healthcare (if you go to a government hospital), even electricity and also things like rail transport are highly subsidised. Nigeria government does not even help their poor citizen when compared to the US government. Programs like food stamps, medicaid, section 6 housing , student grants etc are all available in the US for qualifying individuals..USA also charges each and every one of its citizens tax. Heavy tax. It is only just now in NIgeria that we have started the practice of individual filing of tax returns. IN the USA....it is a given. And if you do not pay your tax you will go to jail. Or get fined heavily or both. That is how they are able to afford all those things for the poor people. USA Is also a diversified industrial exporting economy. Nigeria? Even if we fought corruption and so forth, to provide what the US provides on top of our very low income from oil would force the government into taking massive and I mean MASSIVE...loans. You go complain tire. The fundamental problem of Nigeria is corruption. You people should stop this idiotic assumption that supporting better taxation means someone supports corruptuion. It's kind of immautre really. Corruption is the main reason why I don't support tinubu and the oppositon. IT Is also why I support every Nigerian paying a tax ...because if everyone pays tax, they would be incentivised to do something if there is no change. Ya think that revolutions happen like that? Most of our income comes from oil. 1.7m bpd. Even 4m is not enough for us. That is why i shout on this site that we should diversify our economy, and industrialize our economy among other things. Not subsidy and not about spending on the poor. A lot of resources are not used for what they were budgeted for. Elected officials lack accountability, they misuse public fund without fear of consequences. The problem is our economy is dependent on oil...not on using our resources to make exportable goods, and a very poor tax system...which is why there isn't enough money for subsides. Also, subsides that work are production subsides. Consumption subsidies are not only inefficent, they are very prone to corruption. Yes, it is the truth...the consumption subsides we do here are one of the reasons why corruption is high. |
| Re: NASA Launches Artemis II To The Moon by nairalanda1(m): 8:28am On Apr 02 |
SeizeTheMemes:LOL...it's like you guys only see what you want to see Subsidy removal on power and petrol would mean more investment would flow into both sectors...which would fuel their growth, and by extension...an industrialized exporting NIgeria...which exports manufactured goods and services, and then prosperity No nation , no strong nation grows by consumption subsides. Read my posts, on this site, slowly. The problem is that there is no plan towards industrialisation because why would the government build when they can just take from you? The only way to change this is to be aware that the government doesn't have our interests in mind and to make a collective action to change things ourselves.Because people like you want government to share money, and yes, your government in turn shares money. Which even worsens corruption because he who is close to the sharing will steal Also most of you do not want industrailzation...you want to go to university to get degree to work in airconditioned office. You refuse to pay your power bill...most of you, because poor light, and you advocate for consumption subsides on power, which prevents investment in electricity and thus industrializtion You vote for people like tinubu , not a real productive leader. That is how you vote against your interest...you want your country to be like Saudi , not like China or germany. |

it actually like three to four engine this first one from earth is the one with the only power to push them out of earth because of much gravity on earth, after they get to earth orbit this one will detach and after they enter into moon orbit the other will detach too these once has less power and speed because after earth gravity is not much again in some space area like moon, when coming back it another that will bring them, it the gravitational force on earth that requires them to use that one with massive fire rocket if not gravity will just be drawing them back victorazyvictor: |

| Re: NASA Launches Artemis II To The Moon by sweerychick(f): 9:31am On Apr 02 |
victorazyvictor:jet engines can't produce that kinda thrust, the highest a jet engine can do is to reach the edge of space, to get to low earth orbit you need rocket engines, like the one you see for launch. To break away from Earth's gravity, you need about 6 million pounds of thurst of escape velocity |

Let's reason this . Did the US really out a man in the moon in 1969? In 1964 the US President announced the US will put a man in the moon ( to show that the US was better that the Soviet Union (Russia) which had put a dog into orbit.) Starting from scratch .... with analog technology .... wayyyyyyyy slower and veryyyyyy limited compared to today's digital technology.....within just 5 years ....they flew three men to the moon. Now more than 50 years with digital technology....what can be done on an ordinary smartphone could not have been done by NASA"s analog back then..... we are seeing it as a feat to celebrate.....flying around the moon. You landed there 50 years ago and today can only hope to fly around the moon? Something is just not right with this picture. Where has man gone that 50 years later he doesn't have the ability to return? |

If it won’t land on the moon, no point celebrating. They will be back in ten to twelve days. |
