AutoConsult is a SCAMMER!!! He collects 20k to “inspect” vehicles, only to get to the location and connive with the dealers to lie that the car is in good condition. I called him out on Instagram, and rather than defend himself, he decided to block me. His handle is @autoconsult_ng. It would be in the best interest of mods to ban this guy before he scams more people. My issue isn’t even the fee. It’s the fact he connived on TWO occasions with the dealers to not disclose issues the vehicle has. I would have just forgotten about it, after all I don sell the car. But the fact you had the audacity to block me on IG and Nairaland, proves I’m right! AutoConsult come and defend yourself, or you can choose to block me again. https://www.nairaland.com/autoconsult

You were paid to inspect 2 vehicle for 2 separate people. The first was a Toyota Camry. You mentioned things that needed to be fixed, and based on your recommendation and “comprehensive” report, the person bought the car. Within the first week of buying, he changed steering rack, changed all tyres (which you claimed were good). One of the tyres was even swollen. Changed inner shaft cup. And a host of other things you failed to mention in your so-called comprehensive report. The car doesn’t start on one try. You never mentioned this. When I brought this to your attention, you said you mentioned it in your report, that it was VVTI. Then you said “no, sorry, camshaft sensor”. I have the messages so you can’t even deny. He spent more than N1m fixing things you chose not to disclose, because the dealer obviously greased your palms. |

Autoconsult The second vehicle was a Mercedes-Benz. You inspected the car and mentioned that some codes came up which were censor-related, nothing too serious. If only that were true. Within one week of buying, the car started moving funny. Only to take it to Mercedes technicians who confirmed that the engine had been worked on more than twice and it was bad. It was already emitting white smoke. There was A LOT of sludge in the engine. When I brought this to your attention, you claimed that there’s no way to detect sludge in Benz except you bring down the engine. Ehen?? To be sure I wasn’t being played, I took the car to about 4 different technicians. I didn’t mention what the problem was. I just told them to scan the car and let me know what the problem was. All of them recommended changing the engine. Car I hadn’t used up to 2 weeks oh. There was no technician that looked at the engine bay of that car that wouldn’t know it had been worked on. I told you I would cut my losses, change the engine and sell it. You were busy sending me stupid sad face emoji, telling me sorry for the slip in judgement. I know how much I spent on that car before I sold it. I took it as my loss, and I’ve gotten a better car. All of this would have been avoided if you had not been dubious. |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Nobody: 9:28am On Apr 02 |
Unfortunately as at the time my colleague detected issues with his own car, I had already bought mine. If this had happened long before, I would never have used autoconsult again. But, we learn everyday. Now all of this happened in August last year. I’ve sold the car, and I got a better one. However, the reason I chose to bring this here is to make other people aware. Autoconsult is still going about claiming he has never had a single bad review, claiming he doesn’t collect money from dealers to lie about vehicles he’s inspecting. When I called him out on IG, he chose to delete my comments and block me. On top his own stupidity. Autoconsult you can choose to block me on Nairaland. You did that already. Just be prepared to do it every 3 weeks. If everything I’ve been saying is a lie, then why haven’t you defended yourself? Instead, you’ve been blocking up and down. Mugu. You should know I still have our conversations. Do business with him at your own peril. |

His report on the Mercedes. Spare tyre wasn’t intact. Engine was bad. There was no catalyst! Window buttons on the passenger side weren’t working. The infotainment had no FM. But I never complained about this. Cos what is window buttons and radio when engine is bad? Found this out when I took the car to Benz technicians |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Truthseeker10: 11:49am On Apr 02 |
FuckAutoconsult:1)You claimed autoconsult said the tyres were good. The screenshot proves that you are lying. He clearly said "All the tyres were average including the spare". 2)You also lied that he said the steering rack was good. He clearly told you that the steering was aging and that it was making noise and that he noticed it was stiff while the vehicle was on a spot. 3)You also lied that he did not mention that the car doesn’t start on one try. The screenshot proves that he told you that his scanner brought out a Camshaft position sensor code and that the sensor would need to be replaced because it makes the car to have a hard start. The above is my observation that you are not fully truthful.

FuckAutoconsult:1)You lied that he said that the error codes were not too serious. I can't find that statement in the inspection report below. He clearly said that the error codes were all sensor related. 2)You also claimed that your technicians said that the engine was worked on more than twice. How were they able to ascertain the number of times that the engine was worked on? How did they see the sludge? Could it be that they opened the engine before seeing the sludge to confirm autoconsult position? 3)You claimed that the car began moving funny within one week of your purchase. Are you telling us here that at the time you went to purchase the car, you did not test drive the car to know if the car was moving funny so as not to buy the car, or was it autoconsult that purchased the car on your behalf and brought it to you? b)If you went to purchase the car yourself in-person, and the car was not moving funny at the time of your purchase, could it be that the car developed issue after you bought it for it to emit white smoke? White smoke is an evidence of Coolant leak into the engine. Could it be that the car was overheating while you were driving and you weren't aware until the engine was affected?

| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Nobody: 12:47pm On Apr 02 |
Truthseeker10:Stop cherry picking. His report clearly states engine is in good condition. It wasn’t! Did you miss the part where he emphasised the engine is sound. Very sound. Never been tampered with. Also when he said catalyst present. Which wasn’t the case. Like I said. I already cut my losses. Do business with him at your own peril. |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Nobody: 12:53pm On Apr 02 |
Truthseeker10:The camshaft position sensor was changed. That was the first thing to be changed. And as of today, the car doesn’t start once. It starts and goes off. Then on the second try it starts properly. When I mentioned this to autoconsult, he then said it was VVTI. The Camry isn’t my issue cos no be me use am. But I made sure I communicated everything the user was complaining of to him. The steering that he claims was steering well but stiff in motion, it was stiff both in motion and when at standstill. He said no need to rush to repair. But it was stiff from day one. An “average tyre” in your opinion is one that’s swollen yeah? Anyways, I’ve said my own. Deal with him as you please. Cheers |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Nobody: 1:03pm On Apr 02 |
Understand me clearly when I say he failed to disclose every issue. Did he disclose some? Yes. And they were worked on. But explain to me how you can say “engine is very sound. Catalyst present. The catalyst was not there. Also bear in mind nobody works on any of my cars in my absence, before someone will come here to claim it was removed in my absence. Having to change the engine of a car few months after buying isn’t funny. So anyone coming to just cherry pick what they want to respond to, I would just ignore. Didn’t post these here for anything other than to let people know. If you’re dealing with autoconsult, do so at your own peril. Ensure you get a second opinion. Don’t rely on his report. Na my mistake be that. |

Oh by the way, autoconsult I see you viewing this thread. Perhaps you’d like to address why I was blocked on IG and Nairaland? If you know you didn’t Bleep up, you won’t have done that. |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Truthseeker10: 1:21pm On Apr 02 |
FuckAutoconsult:This is hilarious. 1)But you lied that he didn't make mention of the problem of hard starting. 2)You are also lying again. Previously you claimed he said vvti then later corrected himself and said camshaft position sensor. So why are you now insisting and twisting your own narrative to mean that he insisted that it was the vvti? steering that he claims was steering well but stiff in motion, it was stiff both in motion and when at standstill. He said no need to rush to repair. But it was stiff from day one.1)But you lied previously that he claimed that the steering rack was good. So why should we believe your stories about the steering rack now? 2)You also lied that the he claimed that the tyres were good. So why should we believe you now that one of the tyre was swollen? |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by Truthseeker10: 1:27pm On Apr 02 |
FuckAutoconsult:I never claimed the engine is good or has not been tampered with as a defense to autoconsult. I have asked you questions that needs your reply ad the one presenting the case here and the screenshot evidences. Please address the questions below. Don't run away. 1)You lied that he said that the error codes were not too serious. Truthseeker10:Very hilarious. Rather than swallow aspirin for autoconsult’s headache, he can come here and speak for himself. Abi na two of you join do the inspection of the cars. Again, stop cherrypicking sh*t. Either address ALL points or keep quiet. Simple as ABC |
| Re: Avoid Doing Business With Autoconsult!!! by senator2k9(m): 3:47am On Apr 04 |
From your assertions, I’m sure you never read his report thoroughly. You only went back to the report after you started experiencing the issues he had already pointed out. How does changing tyres which you were already told are of average condition translate to buying a bad car? Even when you buy a tokunbo car, most times you still change the tyres. The issue with the steering was clearly stated in the report. What else was he supposed to do? Give you an exact date the steering would fail? Again, you complained about the inner shaft. Remember pre-purchase inspection is non-invasive. Was he supposed to loosen the tyres and remove the inner shaft from the transmission just to inspect it for you? Which dealer or seller would permit that? The report clearly stated there was an indication of low engine oil and an issue with the camshaft position sensor, which is related to hard starting. I’m surprised you’re still complaining about hard starting. That’s why I’m saying you didn’t read the report thoroughly, you only went back to it after the problems started. Now, regarding the Mercedes-Benz ML. Someone already asked how you and Kazeem were able to conclude that the engine had been repeatedly rebuilt. You also mentioned there is a lot of sludge in the engine. If the engine had truly been rebuilt multiple times, how come none of those rebuilds addressed or flushed out the sludge? Who would reject a good car simply because the passenger-side window was not working at the time? A 2011 model (about 15 years old), and you still expect the catalytic converter to be intact and unclogged? Most cars in Nigeria don’t even have a functional catalytic converter. The report stated that the engine had a tapping sound, yet you still went ahead and paid for the car. A tapping sound is often an early sign of engine knocking. I just hope you didn’t buy a car worth 10 million for 4 million and expect not to carry out any repairs to make it roadworthy. You want a “buy and drive” vehicle at a very low budget. Next time, understand that good cars are not cheap, and cheap cars are not always good. There’s no way you’ll buy a Nigerian-used car without doing some work on it. That’s why the key points were highlighted for you, but you failed to take note of them. |
