The nurse who went viral for recording the terrible conditions at Uwani General Hospital, Enugu (no electricity, no water during night duty) has now been given an INDEFINITE SUSPENSION by the hospital management.
She says:
“I’m the girl that posted about the hospital at Owani… Sadly, I was given an indefinite suspension and removed from my clinical duties.”
The Enugu State Government had queried the hospital after the first video blew up. The hospital claims they have now fixed the issues, but the nurses are still barred from resuming duty.
She pleads with Nigerians:
“Did we do anything wrong? We only wanted to bring their attention to the problems… and now we’re being punished badly.”
This is the classic Nigerian story — expose the rot, get punished instead of protected.
Will the Enugu State Government reverse this? Governor Peter Mbah, the ball is in your court!

This is where my son was given birth to about 10 years ago, and I still stay with the environment.
Honestly this place currently is a complete nuisance to be called a hospital.

I believe Nigerians are over quiet over certain things, that's why the lacity, corruption, killings and nonchalant lifestyle of the elites is becoming uncontrollable

That shows the amount of Guvnor Amuneke we have across the country...


The so called guvnor of Enugu State will be going about social media showing pictures of his so called Newly Built Primary Health Care facilities across the wards in the state but in reality this is what's on ground.

There's no need for resumption there again. Both of them can resume at my house. I urgently require a nurse's TLC.

Let them take their case to industrial court.

It is a crime to expose their corruption if you are under their payroll.

I think Civil service laws don't allow for whistleblowing but I may be wrong.

This is spot on. Commissioning new projects that will be abandoned like the existing ones because they eat more money from the new projects. That's the signature of government projects.

She have sense and different from her people who only see error in Lagos and not in their State.

Why not transfer them instead of suspension? My thought though. A village hospital would do. It is always good to read the code of conduct before yuo joing them

I know most places have an agreement signed by new employees about conflict resolution and dispute management. In those agreement, steps to channel grieveness are spelt out. Also, there are often clauses restricting speaking to the press and use of social media to communicate about the work place, Failure to adhere to those rules is ground for disciplinary action up to termination.

They should go back and read the terms of their employment.
