Memberclub:The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. This is one of the biggest challenges when u are self employed. Have a compulsory savings of let's say 20k daily for a start. When I mean compulsory, I really mean d one someone will be demanding it from u as if u owe them. U have to keep urself motivated Have a target, So that even when u don't feel like it but remember ur commitment u will go out reluctantly. Ones u are out u will not want to come back until u have met your target. If u can pretend u are working for someone and u don't have any excuse to be home can also help. Except u are sick or it's ur off day, Just tell urself u must go out everyday no excuses. |

Dabadwela:U guys should do this analysis of how much u will make before engine packs off na. Una just dey ask "do u know how much u will make before engine spoil?" as if any sane person is supposed to Intentionally embark on a mission of destruction. Una just dey say "how much be engine?", Corolla engine is currently 1m. After u use 1m for CNG So u are running a race to make at least 2m back before ur engine start to get coma. My point is, Install CNG on a car that cng will not spoil the engine that's when u will enjoy it. |

Ogs in this thread, a quick comparison btw corrola, camry and matrix, of the same year, let's say 04/05. Which is best for a first time car owner that wants to do e-hailing on the side? |

OGs in da house, can you advise which routes one need to avoid due to one reason or the other for the safety of other drivers? Also it would be good to recommend or update with alternative routes where necessary. Thanks 👍 |

Pearl1910:Always say what you know as facts. Avoid them say and hearsay. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Pearl1910: 7:15am On Apr 04 |
tojahh:As d professional in the field u haven't honestly given people the demerits or drawbacks of installing d CNG, it's obvious u are just after ur own gains, so I can understand. All I have said is what I know. I have several people who have done CNG on Corolla, Kia and Civic, but can't use it because it affects their engine. Even people that manufacturer alcohol and cigarettes tell their customers d inherent dangers. If u can't do that full disclosure for intending converters, so they can make a decision knowing all that is involved, I will not take u serious. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Kumuyiii(m): 8:00am On Apr 04 |
Pearl1910:Bros, cng doesn't affect any engine... What the conversion does is, it elevates the problems or condition of ur engine components . If ur plugs were weak b4, it exposes.. If ur coil was weak, it exposes.... If ur idle air control valve was weak b4, it exposes.... Cng needs all components of air controlling parts to be in prestine state. No weakness allowed, cus gas has less power than fuel. Cng is NOT the culprit or the cause of their predicament, cng only exposed what was hidden or being managed b4, let's educate ourselves please. I just collected my car yesterday, the IACV(idle air control valve) i was managing b4, now the situation is worse, so i just have to buy another unit. It's not the cng's fault. Cng burns cleaner than fuel, better for ur car and environment, that's only downside (not for me tho) is loss of power, cus once again, gas gives less power compared to fuel and also power loss due to conversion. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by demexTK(m): 8:27am On Apr 04 |
Kumuyiii:So basically you are saying, making the switch to CNG is substituting Engine Performance (Speed and touring) for gas efficiency .. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ReadaDream(m): 8:41am On Apr 04 |
demexTK:If you are the type that accelerates gradually, allowing the car to gain momentum...then you have nothing to worry about. If you need instant power, switch to fuel.. Theres an obvious lag when going over a hill/bridge from total stop or after braking (gear is back to 1)..e.g Going over Ikoyi-link bridge from Gerrad/Bourdillon; the car will lag from the bridge accent... if you are going through from Admiralty, its seamless because you've already gained speed before crossing the tollgate. I dont stress my engine, I know when to switch to fuel and back to cng... the process is seamless. The issue most driver have is that, they dont want to use fuel again for any reason after they've converted to cng. Na their engine they suffer am. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ReadaDream(m): 8:51am On Apr 04 |
Kumuyiii:Please attend to the IACV issue very fast.. since you drive EOD, you know how connected the throttle body and the gear is. I almost ran mad last year trying to fix banging/slipping and staying in limp mode issue when on CNG at low rpm. I even replaced the gear, thinking it was bad. That didn't solve the problem. I spent well over 700k trying to get a solution... after extensive research, I figured its Idle related issue. I told my mechanic to service the IACV, then increase the Rpm speed too 1100 at idle and 1000 on full load <ac and gear>.. case solved. |

ReadaDream:Perfectly said, filled my cylinder with 3k yesterday, be me like feem. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Kumuyiii(m): 9:01am On Apr 04 |
ReadaDream:😅😅😅 Sorry bro, fortunately for me, I'm a research freak, the cng guy was telling me to go buy iridium plug it almost 100k, but me know say no be plug.... Na so mechanic make one guy waste 450k on different plugs for something wey na small problem. I'll get the IACV on Monday if God keeps me alive and well. Mine is a bit more tricky, I can't raise the rpm manual, cus in the morning, everything works well oh, rpm at idle is at 1k...so going to adjust that will be overkill and won't necessarily fix the issue, the rpm issue starts when you've driven for a long while, engine is well hot. Then e go set. |

Kumuyiii:Omoo!! Me that was underrating my car because of AC issue is just finding out that my civic is nearly in perfect condition. I didn’t notice any of this issue. In fact, I can’t tell the difference between CNG and Fuel sef. Maybe my installer did a perfect job. My car climbs hills with relative ease. Only thing I notice is that acceleration is insignificantly reduced. I don’t accelerate hard so I don’t really care. |

Kumuyiii:Na the downside u jst dey talk so now. we all need education, and if you don dey drive on ehailing for atleast 3 months and u no sabi about car engineering and parts then you are not serious. Pros & cons dey, if not for Petrol price people wont even look at CNG option twice. CNG wont give you that full power Petrol gives your car, CNG exposes your car issues faster you cant manage electrical parts that has to do with engine optimisation if those options are okay with you then go ahead. |

I don't really need you to take me serious. No Pearl. Don't take me serious. The one time you should take me serious is give me the number of the SEVERAL people (just give me one person) let's confirm your statement as fact. Apart from "Unnoticeable" engine power reduction on stop and go while on CNG, there's no demerits it cause on the engine, again, whatever you were managing on fuel, once you install CNG, it will not manage it, it will show its head immediately because of its no emission system trail. Drop this hearsay bro. You don't use CNG, you haven't been where it was installed or know anything about its technology. Just stick to your fuel sir. Don't always rush into what you don't know it lowers the sense of reasoning as a matured man. You want full disclosure, go to the conversion center near you and get necessary disclosure. Its so simple. What I won't close eye to is you misleading peeps here from hearsay. Just give me the contact if anyone you know that CNG caused his engine problems I assure you I'll record our conversation and send it to you on all channel and declare here that I've been wronged and apologized. Anything aside for this. You're talking in the nonsense. ![]() Pearl1910: |

demexTK:For extra cargo space, take matrix...its basically a Corolla in different shell. Camry is a 2.4ltrs engine...if fuel economy is not your concern, go for it. |

Jamie90:that means your fuel line has issue already there is no how you won't notice the reduce performance. I rarely touch my ivtec when driving but will cng Omo you go touch am before you get some reasonable acceleration out of it if you can carry people Omo forget say you didn't notice |

Kaymax2222:Mesef weak when I read his comment. Except his car as been underperforming, you will surely feel the lag when you want that instant power delivery. Cng no go give you... maybe on V6/V8 it will be slightly different. 4banger, e come be 1.8ltr?.. I go like drive his car to be sure ![]() |
