![]() For ordinary inter-house sport . But when it'll come to PTA,these parents will be nowhere to be found. We too love to dey celebrate frivolities for this country, while neglecting the things that really matters. And you expect Tinubus and his cabals to believe we're hungry after seeing things like these ![]() |

I must commend every parent that devoted his or her time to showcase our pride and diversity at such event. While we do have our problems, it is satisfying and encouraging that we have diverse tribes transitioning the next generation into our diverse cultures, art and tradition. His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) needs to see this epic masterpiece. It’s is soothing! |

life is changing really fast, while growing up,I don't think my parents really had too much time on their hands for these sort of activities, we'll rather hire other people's parents to stand for us or we represent ourselves. This owambe generation parents are ready to turn any occasion to a full-blown jamboree. |

Parents are living vicariously through their children and it is becoming a menace. It is a lack of identity, a lack of self worth and an abuse on the innocent child who is not allowed to enjoy their childhood or youth with proper adult supervision. Don't take the attention away from the child, let the freaking child play in their own world and environment. Na agbaya de steal the show of pikin, letting these kids face unnecessary humiliation the following week when they have to compare their parents. Damn it! Small time nau, these parents will enter the changing rooms of the kids and we will start complaining about Sexual Abuse. Eediots The phone is not helping matters but when you see a lot of adult behaviour in Nigeria, you can tell that many of them have unhealed trauma. It's not just a Nigerian thing, I know, but I can tell you that parents today have spent more time condemning their own parents' style of parenting more than they have done in the actual work of parenting their kids. I feel sorry for kids born today because in a few years, many of them will come on the internet and curse their parents for putting their lives on the internet without their permission, from the announcement of pregnancy to livestreaming their birth and opening a social media page for them before they had sense. The phone has really revealed the children in us. There is a time and place for everything.

It is very much allowed abeg. Inter House sport competition only comes once in a year. There's nothing bad to come with swags jare. I am a very simple person who always likes to do things codedly and dress simply, but I can never condemn whoever wants to come decorated and colourful. For what reason? Must everyone be like me. Live and let others live. |

That definitely can't be a mere school inter-house sports. It could be a group of alumnus celebrating their alma mata. |

I can't believe this is an interhouse sports event celebration because its usually one school that does interhouse sports with invitation relays for other schools to participate. How big and rich is this school to have so many owambes and asoebi? At least in my days, it was between the houses competing against one another |
| Re: Parents Turn Children's Inter-house Sports Into A Cultural Festival In Ibadan by ijayalolo: 7:37pm On Apr 04 |
Prestar:It is called Inter-house competitions. Not inter-house sports. It is our local schools back then that didn't have idea of other areas to compete that limited it to track events only. What this school did is actually the real thing. full blown competition in every areas, from academic competition between the houses, to fashion show, to field and track events etc. Also parents are also part of the competitions although the main focus is on the children. Thank you for your attention to this matter |
