domack99:LOL... The salary of a constable is 58000 naira. His equipment is bad, and thus they run when they see armed bandits. They don't have enough cars or hilux and so forth. Oga, can you survive on 58000 naira monthly, with family.? (At least most policemen are on NHIS for health) Saying that the police problem is not funding is running away from the problem. I'm sorry, but it is what it is. |

This is the fate that awaits some of you living in the west or planning to move your children, with the notion of giving them a better life. Most of the juvenile deliquences and heinous crimes we read are often comitted by children of immigrant parents.Drugs peddling, murder, fighting etc.Part of the reason is that the parents work too much and are never home to guide the children. Some are either divorced or seperated hence leaving all responsibilities to a single parent. |

He should wake up from sleep how did he got shot. Officers received reports of a shooting on Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich, at about 15:40 BST on Thursday. The boy was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. His family has been informed, the Met said. Two boys, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Detectives leading the inquiry have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward as well as appealing for anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage. A police officer stands outside the crime scene on Friday Customers sitting outside a nearby pub, The Greyhound, are said to have run inside in panic as they heard gunshots. Pub worker Sofia Pereira, said she she heard someone fall on one of the bins on the pub's patio at the time of the shooting. Pereira said she then saw a teenager run through the patio towards Woolwich Church Street. She said: "I just heard like a big 'bang', like a big, strong 'boom', which was obviously one of the kids, I think, jumping on the wall, through the bin, and then obviously the bin fell and broke, then he just ran off." She said about 10 customers who were on the patio ran inside "panicking", adding the atmosphere in the pub was "very overwhelming". "Everyone got scared because they heard shooting and they could see one of the guys had a machete, or something like that. "So everyone just ran inside, said 'lock, lock all the doors and everything', because obviously we didn't know what was going on." The area surrounding the street where the shooting took place was cordoned off on Friday, with a dozen police officers at the scene. A bunch of flowers was laid at the end of Lord Warwick Street. Forensic officers appeared to be searching a patch of grass along the street. There is an increased police presence in the area, the Met Police said Forensic officers have been seen searching the area on Friday Det Ch Insp Lucie Card said: "Our thoughts remain with the boy's family and loved ones. "We are aware of the concern that this incident will cause the local community. "We have already made three arrests and our investigation continues at pace. An increased police presence remains in the area." London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan said: "My thoughts are with the family, friends and wider community in Woolwich following the appalling fatal shooting of 14-year-old boy. "There is absolutely no place for this heart-breaking violence. "I remain in close contact with the Met who have been working around the clock - arrests have already been made and an investigation is under way. "Residents will see an increase in police in the local area." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj40ekewqrgo[/quote] |

Onegai:The question should then be why do we copy ill behaviours from rotten groups instead of copying a group like the Chinese? The parents are to be blamed. They're not the only immigrant group with children in London. |

Tendd:Asian children, especially East Asians, commit fewer crimes compared to Black children. Obviously, it's not an immigrant issue, but a cultural one. BTW, we've cult groups across most public universities in southern Nigeria. So, again, it's not a location problem, but cultural. |

nairalanda1:While I agree the police is underfunded and their men underpaid, there's an option to get another job if the one you're doing is not paying well. We, in the private sector, do it all the time. Public servants should try it too, instead of using underpayment as excuse for corruption. |

Gerrard59:It's more of class than cultural . poor to middle class kids tends to dissociate from the schooling system and look upon external influence like peers. chinese children especially from lower class were commiting way too many crimes in mainland, hong kong in the 1990 to early 2005 buzzing with all sort of crimes from drugs trafficking to gang wars. |

Gerrard59:Like someone else said, firstly it's a class thing and then a cultural issue. Asian kids commit crimes too but at much lower rates and the ones who immigrate to Wester countries tend to have a lot of sense. They have very strong international communities, unlike African immigrants. Asians also have a stronger sense of shame and stronger fear of losing face. |

Relocation is different from relocation! You that reside in a descent area in Nigeria traveling out to go reside in a ghetto area in the UK or US. You claim to have relocated but you stay in one of the cheapest, underfunded, unsecured and poverty stricken zones and you think you travelled out? You just upgraded your risk. Raising kids in such areas demands a lot of work if you want to get the best out of them. You must have 4-6 eyes to observe every move, company, language and social media representation they have. |

DeOTR:See why I have issues discussing with you people It is kind of strange that my calling for better pay and conditions for the police is excusing corruptiion in your mind. For eff's sake It's like you like your police force the way it is, ineffiecient and full of police men taking bribes and running away from thieves and being bribed by corrupt poeple And oga, please, it's quite wrong to think I am defending corruption. Don't misrepresent me. |

Of course, one small boy was shot dead, everywhere scatter. But here in your country, hundreds are killed at a go and the government is quite about it. That's the difference... Houseofglam7: |
