⚡The New York Times reports that following the rescue of the F-15E weapons officer, the two transport aircraft (presumably C-130s) used to transport the personnel out of Iran "got stuck" after they landed in Iran.

It was reportedly decided to bring 3 new aircraft to carry out the extractions, and blow up the 2 which got stuck to prevent them from being captured by Iranian forces.

These ones literally lost so many platforms and mounted casualties in helicopter shootdowns, just because they don't want Iran parading their soldier on tv. Your saving grace is that Iran didn't prepare for this. Shame!

It surprises you because you are not following the war with open heart.

Did you study the region where the attack happened and how it happened.

The aircraft went down around the Iranian border with Iraq so the rescue happened within not forgetting the airman must have try to move away from hostile environment toward friendly side.

Secondly Iran is currently not using active radar system that is why the aircrafts don't see the missile coming but the downside is that you can't protect your entire airspace. Protecting the entire airspace is not necessary is Iran large stretch of deserts and mountain.

Borders are usually empty so what is the big deal about the rescue and it doesn't even make sense using c-130 for a rescue of one person so now I am thinking about it, I will have to research more the rescue operation.
