It was a complex rescue!!!... the ability to control the skies was key!! I think this should served as a stepping stone to future deployment of special forces into Iran to conduct limited sabotage and clandestine operations... I had no doubts about the ability of the Us special mission community to be able to deploy small elements of special forces and get the job done... this kind of mission should be better of it was supporting ground operations in Iran


Failure for the US and Israel to build up a significant armed opposition inside Iran has made the war costly... all the Trump administration was betting upon was civilians taking to the streets!!.. that was the childish move!! If the Israeli had done the ground work we would have been having a Libya 2.0 now!!

They have built this myth of invisibility around their military and more especially, around their pilots. So capturing their soldiers easily breaks that myth. It's the same reason they never admit Iran shot down their aircrafts.

It's the same thing with Israel and even Ukraine at the beginning of the war. One of the most effective tactics Hezbollah uses to increase Israeli casualties is to ambush an Israeli unit, and then lay another ambush for the Israeli units that attempt to rescue them. They then lay a third ambush for the rescuers that come to rescue the rescuers.
