Tolu multi-school complex is massive and undoubtedly impressive. Excellent! Looks like the main stadium in the Maracana stadium complex has no provision for spectators seating. Poor vision! Up Ajegunle! |

From the previous thread. The Maracana Pitch at Tolu in Ajegunle is a famous football ground where many Super Eagles players have been discovered. Along with the Navy Pitch (also in Ajegunle), Maracana pitch has been the breeding ground for stars like Emmanuel Amunike and Wilfred Ndidi. Chief Nathaniel Idowu was a multimillionaire who pumped a lot of money into Nigerian football in the 1970s, '80s and '90s. He was the chairman of Leyland (they made trucks and buses at their plant in Ibadan), owned several hotels (if I remember correctly, he owned Newcastle Hotel in Anthony Village) and I remember that he also owned a bank, but I can't remember which one. He also had shares in Tottenham Hotspur football club. He pumped so much money into Nigerian football that the Federal Government appointed him to the NFA board. One of his children, Yemi Idowu took over his businesses after he died (he was behind the renovation of the Maracana Pitch in Ajegunle), while another of his children, Phillips Idowu competed for Great Britain in track and field athletics. Chief Nathaniel Idowu died in 2010. The Nathaniel Idowu Foundation was responsible for renovating the Maracana Football Pitch in Ajegunle. Picture 1: The old Maracana pitch in Ajegunle. Pictures 2 and 3: The new Maracana pitch in Ajegunle Picture 4: The late Chief Nathaniel Olabiyi Idowu (OFR) |

From the previous thread. Yemi Idowu is the son of Chief Nathaniel Idowu. He is a non-executive director of Sterling Bank and was once chairman of Sterling Capital. He also serves as chairman of Leyland Nigeria. He is a director of the Lagos Junior League and the current chairman of Nathaniel Boys Football Club where the likes of Leicester City F.C. midfield maestro Wilfred Ndidi started his career from. He runs the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation which renovated the Maracana football pitch in Ajegunle. |

The person that built all this and also commissioned the first electric rail in the whole of West Africa is whom obidient are comparing with the fool n gross failure Alex Otti. It is true Nigerian youths are truly not angry enough because when we are any fool who praise a failure like Alex Otti that goes about commissioning 200 metre with before n after across all social media, water fountain n an archaic bus stop will be thoroughly flogged. |

It will be funny because I want them to do their comparism of Alex Otti who them claim is the best n Sanwolu who they claim is the failure. I like to see how they juxtapose those today considering the quality n quantity of work undertakenby Sanwolu. goslowgoslow: |

Nigeria hosted the African Nations Cup in 1980. This inspired a naval officer to organise a mock nations cup in Ajegunle. Teams took the names of countries that took part in the Nations Cup. Matches were played at the Navy Town field and at another field in Ajegunle. This other field was nicknamed Maracana, after the Brazilian stadium that was the biggest in the world. Many Super Eagles players were discovered on these pitches. |
