The chance did not exist. Atiku told him point blank he wouldnt be his Vice, that was why he left before the convention.

if you look at the votes in 2015 and 2019, you will understand why Atiku took that stance. PDP got less votes in the SE in 2019 with OBi as vice than they did in 2015 when there was no ibo man on the ticket. His calculation was likely that Obi did not add any value to his ticket and SE would vote PDP anyway, so better to run with a vice who can at least contribute financially and consolidate the SS where APC were making inroads. ......ofcourse it backfired.
