https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0JR4WkGCxY A young man was detained by Nigerian police officers in Ajah, Lagos, simply because he was transporting a used battery without a receipt. He offered to follow them to the station to make a proper statement, but the officers refused and made it clear they only wanted "settlement" (bribe money). They seized his car papers and held him there. In his own words: “I told them to take me to the station so I can make a statement, but they refused. They are still with my car papers.” “I was transporting a used battery. If they want any investigation, they can take my details from my driver’s license. I already know what they wanted, but I told them I’ll never give them shishi!” This is the everyday reality many Nigerian drivers face on the road. No crime. Just pure extortion in uniform. Will the Nigeria Police Force address this? 👀 Drop your thoughts below

Kingsley34:This is not an excuse. If the Police job is not sustaining their need, they should resign and take up another job or venture in to business or farming. |

Nigeria Police FARCE. The good ones are not up to 1% of the Total Force number. The rest? Poorly trained, hungry looking; scruffy and always see the Naira sign when they look at every individuals they come across. |

Truth is the Police Ogas on Top don't want to end the extortion because they receive their cuts. Else what it takes is for some Police ogas to wear mufti in public transport & catch a few officers extorting money & use them as scapegoats. |

I remember when I was travelling back to school. Police stopped ✋️ our bus 🚌 and they carried general searching. When they got to me the police man saw I was with laptop in my backpack and he requested for the receipt. I said I don't have here but he insisted that if I don't provide it I will have to leave the laptop. Out of impulse I asked him if he has the receipt of his phone. He said yes then I asked him to show me. He begin to display their toutish character. |

Kingsley34:As a Nigerian, the system has programmed you to be corrupt or fail , only few made it rightly, we must correct this first. You can’t train someone how to fight , give them gun and black uniform and pay them peanut, they will feed on the public, I watched Sowore , Daddy freeze and a soldier interviewed on Honest Bunch, it revealed a lot |

APC destiny is to destroy the economy. 200k is no longer money for single person in a month. The same youth they are disturbing if they stage protests for the betterment of the country. Na still the same police go shoot them. Most of the police are still operating outdated law. Some are not even informed. I was inside a commercial vehicle when one guy was holding android tab. The police at check point ask the guy for the receipt of the tab. Omo every body shock. They delay everybody with the tab and force us to go leaving the guy behind. They need something to hold anyone for work. Just to collect something. Most time the DPO is accomplice of it but will claim ignorant of it when the case burst. Many people are joining the police out of frustration right now. Using the guns for this type of crime. |
