The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, is dead. Zuru died on Monday night in an Egyptian hospital where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness. His death was confirmed by sources close to the Kebbi State Government, although details surrounding his illness were not disclosed. Until his death, he represented Zuru Constituency in the state assembly and was regarded as a key figure in the legislature. Confirming the development, an aide to the governor on Communication and Strategy, Idris Zuru, described the incident as shocking. “The death of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, came to us as a rude shock. It is a painful loss not only to Kebbi State but to the entire nation,” he said. He added that further details would be provided by the government. “We are still gathering full details surrounding his passing. The government will make an official statement and announce burial arrangements in consultation with the family,” Zuru stated. Further announcements on funeral arrangements are expected from the state government and the family. https://punchng.com/breaking-kebbi-assembly-speaker-dies-in-egypt/

Any government official who chooses to go receive treatment in hospitals outside the country, should die there. |

It's difficult to write RIP when you know how poor our health facilities are and how they've refused to do anything about it. |

Condolences to his family. One truth we all pretend it will not happen, is we shall all die one day. Money, fame, positions will be immaterial. They dont use Nigeria hospitals, but they have improved infrastructure. |
| Re: Kebbi State Assembly Speaker Dies In Egyptt by owobokiri(m): 8:25am On Apr 07 |
They're always dying in foreign lands. It is always Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and London.. They seldom die in their country because Nigeria is in shambles, and they are busy scouting for the best hospitals around the world.. These are the same people entrusted with the onerous responsibility of building up Nigerias health care.. |
| Re: Kebbi State Assembly Speaker Dies In Egyptt by ironheart(m): 8:26am On Apr 07 |
Na so them go dey die abroad in Jesus name. I have no pity for them. Until our health sector is reform, they should keep dying abroad. Spit Modified, we do not have ambulances for medical emergencies in Lagos and Abuja, one useless guy is busy signing contract for medical air ambulance. Have we made vehicular ambulance functional in this country? Our doctors are leaving in drove, what has the government done to keep them? Dont pray to have a medical emergency, you'll understand what it means to be helpless |

I will wish him Solemn Rest in Peace simply because I am a Muslim faithful& human not out of pity because Nigerian political class love to go on medical tourism abroad leaving the masses at the mercy of Auxiliary nurses & half baked doctors with poor medical facilities & fake drugs...Rest in peace 🕊️ to the lawmaker &may Allah comfort the family he left behind |

Fix the hospitals in your country so you don't have to go outside for treatment... It's as simple as ABC. The time spent in processing the travelling and medical care would have been better spent in recovery if he had done the treatment in his state. |

Buhari died in London, this one in Egypt. I doubt if Tinubu has ever received major treatment in any Nigeria hospital at least since he became presidiot. If you ever support these clowns, normally it shouldn't be well with you |
| Re: Kebbi State Assembly Speaker Dies In Egyptt by piriton: 8:39am On Apr 07 |
It will have been nice if each state in Nigeria will just equip one single hospital to international standard to make it easier for anyone to access world class treatment without traveling abroad. This is embarrassing. |

Tooreda: mecuries: Chetas81: PrinceOfLagos: Islander23:I am going to be honest with all of you here In 2004, Obasanjo in collaboration with VAMED equipped several teaching hospitals to world class level. A lot of hospitals since independence have been equipped to world class level, and recently in Akwa Ibom, the governor built NIgeria's first quaternary hospital. Beyond the teritary. Yet, all of them are not functioning well, because you guys, and the apc guys don't want to vote for leaders who would improve our money income to the federal treasury. Prince of Lagos up there has been doing a good job showing the tinubu government as hypocritical, yet when his hero GEJ was in charge, the same problems were in our hospitals, with even more people going oversease, yet he will come and tell us that our hospitals are doing well back then. Same thing with the APC boys...dem go tell us our health system is working, while blasting doctors and nurses who emigrate. But here is a cold fact, our health system is not working because...and I know y'all are going to hate me 1.We are not paying enough into it. There is no no 2. All the countries people japa to for health care oversease have two things in common 1. If their government health care is working...they pay heavy duty taxes. Like the UK for example, they pay a lot of tax into the NHS. Hefty tax. If tinubu got bright ideas and started charging the UK level of taxes here, he would be removed from office by tomorrow. 2. They also go to overseas private hospital where they dump most of their savings for high quality care. And yes, even without corruption, they can afford it. A lot of Nigerians who have never tasted government also take themselves abroad. Even in NIgeria, a lot of people patronise expensive private hospitals, which work because they charge high fees. Very high fees...and in healthcare YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR. Buhari died in a hospital called London Hospital. Let's say we built such a hospital in Nigeria. TO keep it at that standard, anyone admitted there has to drop 1000 pounds every night for admission fees. How many people in NIgeria can pay that? Yet it is that high money that enables the hospital to run well We had world class hospitals in Nigeria...but we refused to pay the kind of hospital fees and taxes that would keep them world class. We refused to pay the kind of salaries that would keep world class talent in NIgeria. We refuse to vote for corrupt free leaders, we tolerate corruption in our hiopsital system..so much so that when a hospital boss is caught stealing, his tribespeople would go and beg for him or her. You can only get what you pay for. Nigerians , including our leaders...do not want to pay for good health care in Nigeria. Most of us are poor to pay for good health care. And our health budget for this year is 5-6 billion...which is about three times what one hospital in Kansas CIty, Kansas...a university teaching hospital..spent on its expansion last year. Nigeria could be prosperous enough to build and maintain world clas...but most of you do not want the kind of leadership that would take us there, because most of you want the government to share money and subsidise everything for you. And your government too responds likewise. TInubu is sharing money, without development, and the sane decsison he took like fuel subsidy removal was forced upon him by Nigeria running out of money. NO sane country gets world class healthcare without paying for it. We can have governor buiding 5 world class hospitals for state, and then most of you will insist on paying N1000 as consulting fee, and less than N20000 for admission 0f 2 weeks, and you expect the hospital to run as world class. Vote out APC and vote in our version of general Park and MIllei and Deng. But since you no want, for now vote out APC, and vote in the oppositon, and if they no perform vote out the oppositon and vote in APC and so on. Maybe we may waken the inner LKY in one politican But stop grumbling about healthcare in Nigeria until you are ready to face reality. |
