Senior political source: The U.S. coordinated in advance with Israel on the temporary ceasefire. Senior Trump administration officials clarified to Israel that during the negotiations to be held in the coming two weeks, the U.S. will firmly insist on the removal of the nuclear material, cessation of enrichment, and elimination of the ballistic missile threat. This is Iran’s 10 point plan – which Trump has accepted as “a workable basis on which to negotiate.” Iran’s 10-point peace plan 1. Guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again 2. Permanent end to the war, not just a ceasefire 3. End to Israeli strikes in Lebanon 4. Lifting of all US sanctions on Iran 5. End to all regional fighting against Iranian allies 6. Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz 7. Iran would impose a $2m fee per ship transiting Hormuz 8. Iran would split these fees with Oman 9. Iran would establish rules for safe passage through Hormuz 10. Iran would use Hormuz fees for reconstruction instead of reparations |
| Re: World News! Events Happening Around The World by HolinessForever: 6:46am On Apr 08 |
It is important to note that neither Iran nor Oman has historically charged transit fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. By charging $2 million per ship from carriers transporting roughly 20% of the world’s oil, Iran could generate tens of billions of dollars annually. This would be a huge victory for the IRGC - one that would only make them richer and stronger. Amir T |

What about the ballistic missiles program? The nuclear sites? The enriched uranium? Would Israel not be allowed to fight to disarm Hezbollah? Amir T |

Senior Israeli official: ▪️The US coordinated in advance with Israel the temporary ceasefire. ▪️This is a move in which Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz without receiving in advance any of its demands, such as a commitment to a final end to the war, compensation, lifting of heavy sanctions against it, and more. ▪️Senior Trump administration officials made it clear to Israel that during the negotiations to be held in the next two weeks, the US will firmly insist on the removal of nuclear material, cessation of enrichment, cancellation of the ballistic missile threat, and more. ▪️These are shared goals of Israel and the US. ▪️Iran has backed down from its demands and surrendered to the demand to open the straits under the massive crushing of the regime's infrastructure since the outbreak of the war and even more so in recent days. Allow me to add: All of the above is complete and utter nonsense, meant to make this blatant capitulation more palatable to Israelis. Amir T |

That's his comment: Trump claims ceasefire deal with Iran a ‘total and complete victory’ for US The United States had won a “total and complete victory” after agreeing a two-week ceasefire deal with Iran, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with the AFP news agency. “Total and complete victory. 100 percent. No question about it,” Trump said in a brief telephone interview shortly after he announced the deal. |

TRUMP’S 15 DEMANDS TO IRAN: 1. Dismantle all major nuclear facilities 2. End all uranium enrichment on Iranian soil 3. Transfer enriched uranium stockpiles out of Iran 4. Accept intrusive international inspections everywhere 5. Permanently renounce any nuclear weapons pathway 6. Suspend ballistic missile development 7. Stop production of long-range missiles 8. End drone transfers and military exports to proxies 9. Cut support to Hezbollah 10. Cut support to Hamas 11. Cut support to Iraqi Shiite militias and proxy groups 12. End weapons transfers to the Houthis 13. Fully reopen and secure the Strait of Hormuz 14. Stop threatening regional shipping and Gulf states 15. Accept a broader regional de-escalation framework, including limits on military escalation with Israel IRAN’S 10 DEMANDS TO TRUMP: 1. A binding guarantee that the U.S. and its allies will not strike Iran again 2. A permanent end to hostilities, not just a temporary ceasefire 3. An end to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon 4. Full lifting of U.S. sanctions 5. Protection for Iran’s regional proxies and allied militias 6. Reopening the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian conditions 7. A transit fee reportedly around $2 million per ship, shared with Oman 8. Compensation or reconstruction support for war damage inside Iran 9. Recognition of Iran’s regional security interests 10. A broader framework for long-term negotiations without immediate surrender of core strategic capabilities ⸻ Both sides understand each other’s positions - yet they still agreed to a ceasefire. Trump may have blinked first - but let’s see who has the last word. |

Israel continues bombing Lebanon despite Pakistan saying allies included in US-Iran truce The Pakistani prime minister said in a statement that the United States and Iran, and their allies, had agreed to an immediate ceasefire, including Lebanon, and that was the status quo for about four hours throughout the evening. And then we had this statement from the prime minister of Israel a short while ago, saying that, in fact, Lebanon is not included. |

Trump on Truth social: "A great day for world peace! Iran wants this to happen - it is fed up, and so is everyone else. The US will assist in managing the traffic congestion in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be many positive steps, a lot of money will be made. Iran can begin the rehabilitation process. Always staying around to ensure everything goes well, and I am sure it will. This could be a golden age for the Middle East."

| Re: World News! Events Happening Around The World by HolinessForever: 6:59am On Apr 08 |
👆 Needless to say, this is neither a great day nor can it be the beginning of any golden age for the Iranian people, the Gulf states, Saudi Arabia, or Israel. The Islamic Republic will rehabilitate itself with the billions it is now poised to generate from the Strait of Hormuz. As usual, that money will not go to the people, but to its proxies. China and Russia are already waiting to supply the ayatollahs with everything needed to restore their deterrence. We may have bought “peace” for two to three years - no more than that. It will be enough for the duration of Trump’s term as president. That’s all… |

High-ranking Israeli officials tell local media that the US will take a firm line in the upcoming negotiations and demand an end to Iran’s nuclear program and limitations on its missile program. But that’s not at all how the ceasefire is being presented in Iran after Trump highlighted Tehran’s 10-point proposal (more accurately, its 10 demands) as the basis for the ceasefire and peace talks. Israel knows this enemy better than Trump, and there is concern in Jerusalem. Trump sells the ceasefire as a major success and even a “golden age” for the Middle East. But in Israel it’s seen by many as a strategic failure. 🔹️ The Iranian regime remains in place 🔹️ The enriched uranium remains 🔹️ The ballistic missile threat persists 🔹️ And now Iran will charge ships to traverse the Strait of Hormuz One thing is clear: Trump has no interest in resuming the war. A glance at oil prices, which fell sharply after the announcement of the ceasefire, speaks volumes. Trump spins it as a success. But for Israel it seems premature. A lot of effort, for very little substance. IT |
| Re: World News! Events Happening Around The World by HolinessForever: 8:12am On Apr 08 |
Israel did not go to war to open the Strait of Hormuz or lower oil prices. The strait of was open and oil prices relatively low before the war. Israel’s clearly stated goals have always been: 🔹️ Eliminate the nuclear threat 🔹️ Eliminate the ballistic missile threat 🔹️ Break the power of the mullah regime (hopeful that it would lead to regime change) Trump says the first two goals will be achieved in the upcoming negotiations and that effective regime change has occurred because all the previous leaders are dead. Is this naïveté, or is more going on behind the scenes❓️ There is much confusion at present. What is clear is that for no one but Trump does this appear to be “total victory.” IT |

Israeli opposition lawmaker Avigdor Liberman: “The ceasefire gives the Iranian regime an opportunity to regroup. “A deal that does not require Iran to abandon its desire to destroy Israel, its nuclear program, its ballistic missile production, or its support for regional terror groups–will only require us to launch another operation at a later time under more severe circumstances with a higher price.” IT |

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has issued a statement that very much echos Trump’s, but in reverse: "The enemy has been begging Iran for over a month to stop the Iranian attacks. “We now inform the Iranian nation that we have achieved almost all the goals of the war - we have defeated the enemy in a crushing manner. “Following the acceptance by the enemy of all our legitimate demands, we have decided to hold negotiations in Islamabad (Pakistan) that will be concluded within 15 days at the most. “The Prime Minister of Pakistan informed Iran that the US had accepted these principles as the basis for negotiations and had submitted to the will of the Iranian people. “This does not indicate the end of the war. “The negotiations will begin in Islamabad on Friday, April 10. The negotiations will last for two weeks - they can be extended by mutual agreement. “National unity must be maintained and the celebrations of victory must continue with full vigor. “If the victory is not translated into a political achievement, we will fight on the battlefield until all the demands of the Iranian people are met. “Our fingers remain on the trigger and if the enemy makes a small mistake, we will respond with full force.” |

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office: Israel supports President Trump's decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks subject to Iran immediately opening the straits and stopping all attacks on the US, Israel, and countries in the region. Israel also supports the US effort to ensure that Iran no longer poses a nuclear, missile, and terror threat to America, Israel, Iran's Arab neighbors, and the world. The United States has told Israel that it is committed to achieving these goals, shared by the US, Israel, and Israel's regional allies, in the upcoming negotiations. The two-week ceasefire does not include Lebanon. |

US-Israel suffered ‘crushing defeat’ in Iran, Russia’s Foreign Ministry says Maria Zakharova, Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, says the United States and Israel launched “a one-track aggressive unprovoked attack” on Iran on February 28, which led to a “crushing defeat”. “Our country, from the very beginning, in its first statements, said that it was necessary to immediately stop this aggression, that there was no military solution to this situation or any attempt to establish order in the region,” she said on Sputnik radio. Zakharova also said it was necessary to immediately begin “a real political and diplomatic settlement, which, of course, is based on the negotiation process with a real consideration of positions”. |
