This is ridiculous. They are the only.embassy that have refused to move digital;asking for lots of documents to be printed like they are selling papers or have a paper recycling plant ![]() Even Frequent travellers that have been TO Ireland over 8 times are waiting for over 4 months now. Not funny at all. Adebayo82: |

And when you call them, their excuse is usually "its because they handle applications from 4 countries" Then make it easy by asking for digital copies and employ more hands. No. Also make the processing time clear on your website so people can plan accordingly. Don't say 8 weeks when its literally going to take forever. |

General note to anyone planning to submit their application at VFS Lekki, Lagos. VFS has moved from where they were before to the Genesis Cinemas building further down the same road (Freedom way). Do not allow touts to waste your time. There are some touts hanging around the old location tricking people to patronize them for passport photographs and photocopies by lying that VFS now uses the back entrance of the old building. They just want you to park your car first. Then they unleash full false marketing campaign balderdash on you. They don't care if you arrived just 30 minutes to your appointment time or you're already running late. There are touts at the new venue too, but at least you're already close enough to run upstairs if you don't need their services. |

Please guys has anyone recently gotten a decision on thier application. I submitted my application Feb 1st there’s been no update since then. Is there a way to know the particular month they are processing at the moment. I’m making travelling plans and thinking of asking them to return my passport. |

I saw this message on the screen after I submitted my online form. Seems they now have a portal where you can track your application. I am yet to enroll as it didn't sail through the first time I tried, but I hear its a long registration process to get on the portal. Good luck! "Important customer notice: Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) has introduced a new customer service portal for all Irish immigration customers. Customers registered on the portal can: • Track the progress of their immigration application(s); • Submit queries to ISD and receive a response directly to their portal workspace; • Book appointments to register their permission to be in the State (for those whose stay in Ireland is over 90 days). So, if you have not already done so, you are strongly encouraged to register for an account on the customer service portal. To do this, please go to the following link": https://portal.irishimmigration.ie/en/ __________ Gentleman07: |

nadesh:That’s ridiculous for a renewal. It seems the standard wait time now is 6–8 months. They need to do better. The UK receives 50x more applications, and you get a decision in less than a month. I just requested for my passport to be sent back. This is rubbish |
| Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by nadesh(f): 3:56pm On May 18 |
Gentleman07:My problem with them is they should be honest and state the REAL processing time on their website. If you go and check, it’s still 6-8 weeks they put there and when you use that as a yardstick to plan yourself and apply, they end up disrupting your plans and worse case scenario, you withdraw your application after wasting your time and waiting for over 5 months. I’m. Just waiting for them to update this weeks visa decision then I will know if I will withdraw my application because I have other plans and need the passport |
| Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Gentleman07: 4:30pm On May 18 |
nadesh:Requesting for your passport does not cancel or stop your application from processing. If it eventually gets approved you pay for courier service to send it back to them. I specifically asked them this. Check last paragraph of attached photo .

Pls for everyone also waiting for a decision or recently got their application decided. Kindly update us your timeline once you get a decision like a submission date and decision date so many of us waiting on this thread can have an idea their current processing time. No one need to know if it was approved or refused if you chose not to. Just let us know your timeline. That will be of great help for us all. |

Gentleman07:I know this but at the end of the day still doesn’t make sense. If you withdraw your passport after waiting for 5 months because you need to be in the UK and the trip to Dublin was also planned to be from UK to Dublin, of what use is withdrawing and sending back passport? What’s the guarantee that you will be in the country whenever they ask for the passport back? Bottom line is they should state the processing time to reflect what’s obtainable, so one can decide to either apply at all or not, or plan his or her trip properly. |
