INEC Transfers Osun REC, Agboke, To Ondo State

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun State, Mutiu Agboke, has been transferred to Ondo State to continue his service with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The transfer comes after he spent three and a half years as the head of the commission in Osun State.

Mutiu Agboke assumed office as the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner in November 2022, following the completion of his second term in Oyo State.

He was reappointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari same year.

During his tenure, he supervised the conduct of the 2023 general elections in Osun State.

For now, there is no information on who will succeed him as the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner

INEC RECs are nominated by the Governors of their states.

INEC RECs may not be card carrying members of any political party, but it won't be out of place to say they would have soft spots for politicians who nominated them.

This man has been serving as Rec from PMB days. I am not sure of anyone that has served longer in the service.

Neway, Adeleke will win, even if it by small margin but big enough for him to retain his seat. He is not an enslaver like APC and Oyetola and I dont think Osun people are stupid to go back to fear and impunity. Adeleke may not be perfect but he is a very liberal and kind Governor. Any choice should be better than him, not back to the hands of Pharaoh that they escaped from

No they are not. It is the state REC's that are nominated by the Govornors. The state REC conduct local government elections not INEC

Winning plateau state is not casted in stone, considering the worsening security situation across the state.
People are upset and feel abandoned.
Tinubu has failed but the current opposition is not a solution to Nigerian problems.
Most of the people seeking for elections in other parties are failed former office holders.
We are opposing the Tinubu government because things are getting worse for the masses.
We will continue to opposed the anti people policies,destructive and anti people democracy being instilled by Tinubu and his minions all in cohorts/concorde to destroy Nigeria and it's people.

Govornors do not nominate REC's. They under the constitution nominate only SIEC Chairmen or women and not REC'S

It is the president that nominate REC'S and not state Govornors
