Fuel Price Biting Hard But You Are Better Than Those In Kenya - Tinubu by adenigga(op): 5:18am On Apr 11
President Bola Tinubu has asked Nigerians to be thankful to God that the cost of fuel is not as expensive as it is in Kenya and other African countries.

He said this on Friday while addressing stakeholders during his visit to Bayelsa State, where he inaugurated some projects.

Among the inaugurated projects were a 60-megawatt gas turbine plants at Elebele in Ogbia Local Government Area, 630 metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, Sagbama/Ekeremor Road, and 2.9km Dual-Carriageway in Yenagoa, the state capital.

During his speech, Tinubu said, ‘’It is very important that we are honest with our people. Yes, I hear you from various angles of the economy. The fuel price is biting hard, but look around, let us thank God together, that you are better off. Listen to them in Kenya and other African countries and what they are going through. We will not look back. We will continue to fine way to ameliorate the sufferings of the vulnerable.”

The Middle East conflict had triggered increase in the pump price of fuel globally.

This is as a result of Iran’s blockade of The Strait of Hormuz, a waterway through which fuel is being shipped across the world.

However, Iran agreed to lift the restriction temporarily during a two-week ceasefire agreed with the US.

The war began on February 28, 2026, and continued until 48 hours ago when a temporary peace deal was sealed.

Worst performing President of all time in Nigeria!

Thousands of Nigerians killed senselessly in religious extremism and terr***sm

Most severe hardship experienced in Nigeria’s history in senseless fake reforms.

Households have lost millions of naira from sudden rise in petrol price and food inflation, due to overnight unplanned dangerous policy shifts

Misplaced priorities on projects initiated to settle associates rather than expand the economy

This man literally says something, then hours later, forgets what he said, that’s why they don’t let him have him do press briefings. Is that the man that can lead Nigeria out of the mess it is in?

To cap it up, victims of religious extremism had to be transported to the airport to meet with him. He was afraid to go see them. Jeeez! If the President himself is afraid, shouldn’t he be in his home tending to his grandchildren than be on a job he’s not qualified and fit to be doing?

Rather you should thank him for affirming subsidy removal.....imagine we still had subsidy on petrol today, it would have been calamitous, we would have been buying at 3k per liter now and ther would have been scarcity and long queues... removal of subsidy made ot possible for dangote refinery to commence refining and selling to the local market.

I will thank Peter Obi for using his money for Philanthropy around the country doing things the government should be doing for the people.

Dangote refinery was commissioned on May 22, 2023, before he became President. In fact, he wanted to frustrate the refinery in favor of his associates importing from abroad. We all saw what happened.

You don’t have to use lies to make a point.

Is Kenya an oil producing country?
Is there any refinery in Kenya?
His handlers should try convincing him to speak with a teleprompter.

Honestly, most of his speeches are very elementary and shallow.
How can a whole Nigeria be having presidents like Buhari and Tinubu?
He went to Jos the other time and was accusing them of not having light at the airport and because of that he is returning to Abuja in ten minutes and you begin to wonder whether the man is forgetting that he is the president.
Re: Fuel Price Biting Hard But You Are Better Than Those In Kenya - Tinubu by Memphis357(m):
Tinubu probably thinks everyone is as stupid as those close to him who always clap for every one of his gibberish.

“Let’s fact-check the president. He specifically mentioned suffering in Kenya.

Fuel prices in Kenya have remained the same throughout the war in Iran. No kobo was added as a result of the war. However, a liter of fuel there sells for 1,800 naira. Again, while the minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦70,000, Kenya’s minimum wage is a little above ₦170,000. So, Kenya’s minimum wage is more than twice Nigeria’s. The average Kenya don't have to buy Fuel, they, have 24hrs electricity and with N10,000 the average Kenyan Youth can Power their home for 1 month, electricity is cheap and basic for them.”

I have never seen incompetent fellows like this set of APC politicians. They dish out rubbish without minding the repercussions of their actions. Meanwhile, Kenya isn’t an oil-producing country but they are miles ahead of Nigeria.

This is reinforcement of failure. Only failures give excuses for everything and it has become the tradition of the Tinubu led administration.

This is all what Bola Ahmed Tinubu has to offer

Of course. This is the kind of statement I expect this buffoon to make. Meanwhile minimum wage in Kenya is 125 dollars per month and in Nigeria, it is 43 dollars per month.

So because we are 'better' than a Country without crude oil, we should be dancing?

What made him even think we are better?

Comparing us with less and not with those with more is a sign of total failure.

He has agreed to his failures.

Kenya is not an oil producing state . Nigerians have clueless leaders
Re: Fuel Price Biting Hard But You Are Better Than Those In Kenya - Tinubu by 1vandragon: 6:40am On Apr 11
Ok.

Minimum wage in Kenya is about 16,000ksh and super fuel is around 178 ksh.

So the minimum wage in Kenya can buy about 90 litres of premium fuel.

Fuel in Nigeria in about N1300. Minimum wage is N70,000.

So, the minimum wage in Nigeria gets you about 51 litres of fuel.
Re: Fuel Price Biting Hard But You Are Better Than Those In Kenya - Tinubu by Onucs(m): 6:40am On Apr 11
That is the only thing our politicians are good at. Looking for excuses in other countries to qualify their wickedness

Minimum wage in Kenya is between 160k to 180k naira, that is almost triple of Nigerian minimum wage.

You didn't see that one ahbi. Una no get shame.

Before you point at Kenya, what's the minimum wage in Kenya? How far with the CNG? What has the FG really done to address the increase in fuel price?

Oh, wonderful, so hardship now comes with a comparison bonus?

Fuel prices are biting hard, but we should feel better because someone somewhere might have it worse? That’s the new standard?

At this rate, governance has become a game of “at least you’re not…” instead of actually fixing the problem.

Honestly, at this stage, it’s hard to tell who is more unserious, the 'rulers' or the citizens who keep accepting this logic.
