| How Peter Obi Responded To The Question Of Subsidy Removal by Estello(op): 5:00am On Apr 13 |
Peter Obi, during his 2023 presidential campaign, strongly advocated for removing the fuel subsidy, calling it "organized crime". He consistently promised to eliminate it immediately if elected. He consistently maintained that the subsidy regime was a massive drain on resources and a form of corruption, rather than a benefit to the poor.

Estello:Peter Obi is a business man and understands how it works. The man that stole the mandate doesn't understand nor know how it works. He just acted on what Obi said without understanding. He killed the Naira. What is the rationale behind blaming Obi. Let the truth be said, TINUBU HAS FAILED AND DOESN'T DESERVE SECOND TERM. Little wonder they are afraid of Obi. Mr Peter Obi is the greatest nightmare to Tinubu and his cohorts. |

Nigeria is the best place to market and sell your products. If they could easily buy into the fraud called Peter Obi, then they can easily be sold any fake products. |

Peter Obi is not a sincere politician from all ramifications. His IQ is too low to even rule over a local government in Nigeria. I have listened to Obi interview countless times, he is not intelligent at all. No Employer can recruit applicant that fails woefully. He has never answered any questions intelligently since he desperately willing to govern the country |

The man na trader he didn't understand anything economic. All he was saying there were written for him. A man who couldn't maintain Next UK because he didn't understand taxation. Tueh Ask him the meaning of subsidy unprepared and see stameri. The day he was asked on Arise TV what he will do differently if he's president really exposed him as empty. Nothing to offer. |

I'm not an Obi fan but APC people are really daft. No responsible human would want fuel subsidy to continue but the problem is HOW it should be removed and how the proceeds are to be used to benefit the masses. In the case of emilokan, no thought was put into it and the proceeds s of subsidy removal has only benefited the politicians instead of the masses |

Them don give data boys assignments, you can see all of them up there They want to create a narrative that both tulumbu and obi would have done the same thing Tulumbu woke up one day and spoke as though he was campaigning after he became president, the petroleum sector was spooked and that was how Nigerians were thrown into the bottomless pit with no safety nets |
| Re: How Peter Obi Responded To The Question Of Subsidy Removal by tuoyoojo(m): 6:45am On Apr 13 |
Removal of the subsidy without any major cushioning effects was the main problem What safety nets did tulumbu put in place to cushion the effects of subsidy removal In the full interview, obi talked about doing it gradually in other not to severe hardship to the masses It's just like two chefs given ingredients to cook food, one does it haphazardly and the food comes out tasteless. The one now goes say says because his food is tasteless the other chef would not be able to cook well Tulumbu data boys are at work from the responses above, stay guided |

This particular thread is a calculated, deliberate, planned and well orchestrated move by APC supporters from their Whatsapp Group to decimate PO through the New Media. The first five comments and their moniker gave them out. If PO is non-significant, why will a full and able bodied adult wake-up on the first working day of a new week (Monday) and decide to malign a person whose only offence to APC is that he won the Presidential Elections results in Lagos ? It's shameful and distasteful that "Fuel Subsidy" is the subject here. Secondly, The APC whose Chief Promoter was President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mohammed Buhari protested against the PMS subsidy removal along with other APC stalwarts and civil society, the Boko Haram killings was also a tool used against Gooluck Jonathan (PhD), leading to his removal as the President of Nigeria through the ballot. No sane human being would have left PMS subsidy. However, the manner it was removed and its touted savings remain a " Macro" success with Nigerians left wallowing in excruciating poverty through low disposable income. The execution of the subsidy removal has been catastrophic. |

Hey, it is not subsidy removal, which is the same thing as tax income or every othe income that matters. It is what is done with the resources that makes the difference. Spending is the difference between poverty and wealth. It is spending that creates the cycle of poverty or wealth. Every toddler in business knows that. Just like for the individual. Your earnings are secondary to your expenditure. If you earn the world and cannot manage your resources but squander it recklessly, you will eventually become poor. I supprted the removal of subsidies since the first day I came to this forum long before the APC was formed. This party, this leadership and this President resisted it in favour of fighting the cartel. I said then that the structure of Nigeria could not achieve that (it still can't). But what leadership can do is to invest the earnings from the removal towards developing the country. So the question is: How has this government invested the massive resources earned or saved from not subsidizing gasoline....that is determining how poor or rich we are today, tomorrow and in months an years to come. |

Tulumbu before had talked about how he would turn the country around and make it like paradise. He even said if he does not provide power, they should not vote for him He told good luck that security is the sole responsibility of the president |

Sannisege:Nobody is against subsidy removal. We are simply asking You said you ain't paying subsidy, yet you are borrowing more than those that paid subsidy. So which other sector are u investing the money that are supposed to be used to pay for subsidy? If you say there is no money, the one you are borrowing, where are u investing it into since you ain't paying subsidy |

| Re: How Peter Obi Responded To The Question Of Subsidy Removal by Reference(m): 6:55am On Apr 13 |
If you run a family, a company or a country as a leader or owner or as a head in any capacity you must make those you lead understand the cycles of sacrifice in investment and hope in expectation for a reward. Both you and them will be part of this process from beginning to end. Everyone sacrifices and everyone gets the reward at the end. You don't tell your children or company workers or citizens of state they should make the sacrifices of investment and then you as leadership excludes yourself and live even more extravagantly, bereft of any responsibility to the vision and expect understanding. That is not leadership but rulership. |
