I like your objective opinion in the same way I dislike war-monger bullies who cannot withstand the freedom of other nations. Kudos to Iran!

Tolls are being charged at the Panama and Suez canals
Hormuz shouldn't be different
It just needs a legal framework
Panama canal and Suez canal are Man made not natural passage 🙌📌💯👌.

Really? Israel tried to handle Iran alone last year June but after receiving devastating blows from Iran it had to run to America to help her secure a ceasefire.

If Israel could handle Iran alone Netanyahu would not have made several trip to the US since last year and up to this year lobbying Trump to help Israel start another war with Iran. In the war US is the horse while Israel is just a cat riding on the back of the horse and now that the horse itself is finding it difficult to subdue Iran it needed a ceasefire and asked the cat (Israel) to get down.

Israel the cat had no option than to step down cause it was only using the horse to cross bridges and rugged terrain it couldn't cross alone.
You’re just ignorant and naive🤦‍♀️

Nigeria just uses every international problem to find excuses. Don't we have a refinery? Are we supposed to be buying crude oil since Dangote refinery is working well? Nigeria shouldn't have a problem whether Hormuz is open or closed.
go and refine for ur backyard and sell at hundred, or go and tell ipman and nupeng nd other bodies that Nigeria still have refinery

No matter how you look at it the current Iranian Government being spearheaded by the IRGC is a crooked and evil government. Why did they shut out the citizens from the outside world if they have nothing to hide while slaughtering and executing their own people like fowls? Why is there no freedom for the press or opposition in Iran? I shudder when I see people defending this evil regime. A regime that uses their citizens as human shields while they hide in holes is nothing but an irresponsible one at best. Where are Thier leaders? If not for the plea by Pakistan and the American restraints on Israel their lying machine of a foreign minister and his ilks would be in the ground below now confirming of a truth that their pseudo 72 virgin is nothing but false.
the Iranian government is only trying to protect its people and its resources from external control. Take for example what happened years back when the westerners had a full control of Iranian oil , the people were suffering, no tangible development, every decision is mostly influenced by foreign countries , they only had the resources, they don't benefit from it and now when the iranian rise to fight against these foreign powers everybody is condemning them . It's quite understandable sha when you only read news from western media

Why is Iran laying claim and control right over the Strait whereas Oman also has 22km of the strait according to you?

Septuagenarian:
The UN is an hypocrite, doublemouthed and biased for telling Iran not to toll their own territorial water. The strait is 33km wide and every country have 22km as their coastal territorial water. Thus the strait of hormuz overlaps between Oman and Iran coastal water. Anyone shouting and making noise about the strait is just wasting time and unrealistic. I am sure it that Strait of Hormuz is in USA, Dumb Tariff Trumpet would have charge toll a very long time, bloody hypocrite and imperialist. You cant pass through my territory and go free of charge unless i want you to, if you dont like it you can pass another route afterall its a free world.

What you wrote up there doesn't make sense,
Only Iran can never lay claim to strait of Hormuz,
Oman, UAE, Kuwait also have right over strait of Hormuz because they are all on the coastline

You yourself claimed the strait borders Oman and Iran . Though UAE and other Arab states also borders it . But for the sake of this argument lets use your own logic to reason it .
How come only Iran is laying claim now and extorting the world when it doesnt belong to only them ?
If iran isnt a terrorist nation it wont be terrorizing the whole world with something that doesnt belong to only them .
So because Oman lacked military might they tend to ignore their right?

Gotocourt:
The legal status of tolling in the Strait of Hormuz is complex and involves several international legal frameworks:
Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), coastal states cannot demand payment for passage through straits, including the Strait of Hormuz, simply for permission to transit.

Iran has proposed legislation to impose tolls on vessels passing through the strait, which would require ships to obtain permits and licenses, effectively creating a controlled transit system.

The proposed tolls could be as high as $2 million per ship, with revenue intended for rebuilding Iran following recent military actions.

However, the legality of such tolls is still under scrutiny, as UNCLOS explicitly prohibits charging fees for passage unless specific services are provided.

This situation raises significant questions about the legality and implications of tolling in a vital global shipping route.

Story!

Iran have been under sanction for about 47 years but they never thought of closing the strait of Hormuz until trump and Netanyahu started bombing Iranian children.

The Iranians have the freedom to defend themselves from their aggressors however they want and the UN won't do sh*t.

Why didnt Iran use all this strength to defend their supreme leader or their boastful generals roaming the street of iran few weeks ago ? Where is Irans present Supreme leader ? Why hasn't Iran retaliated to even kill an Israeli General if they were that calculative & powerful as made believe on paper ? Can't you see the handwriting on the wall ? Why did iran allow the b2 bomber to destroy their nuclear site worth billions of dollars & etc. What significant thing have they destroyed as retaliative measure in nearby Israel ? & you call those ones powerful? All i see are stubborn goats & deluded supporters.
Why did the US allow Iran to destroy their 13 bases undecided

Why did the US allow Iran to destroy their aircrafts worth several billions of dollars undecided

Why did the US allow Iran to destroy their B2 bomber aircraft undecided

Why did Israel allow Iran missiles and drones to cross and cause destruction in their country undecided

With all her military might, why haven't the US forcefully opened the strait of Hormuz undecided

The Iranians are not insane people who go about bombing school children.

The US is so weak that they can't force the strait open.

All I see here are s*nsl*ss and pea sized brain supporters undecided

....

You won't say the same if you were an Iranian. How sensitive can they be. Why must they build nuclear weapons and want to collect a toll on an international sea. Are they the owners of the season??.
I don't like Donald Trump's excuse for war but now I'm beginning to see that they were right that Iran were building nukes so they can use it anyhow on any nations that vexes them. Also those Shia people don't fear or care about death, a more reason not to allow them own nukes
What evidence do you have that they are building nuclear weapons in order to attack other countries? It is the people who have nuclear weapons that are invading other countries kidnapping or killing leaders and children of other countries at will.
Did Iran ever attack other countries unprovoked?

Panama and Suez canal are different from the Hormuz strait. Those two are not natural waterways, they were created by their respective countries to ease waterway navigations, therefore, the respective countries have a right to charge on them. Strait of Hormuz doesn't belong to Iran, it is a natural waterway. Stop confusing people with your anti America ideological leanings.
Maybe the Strait of Hormuz belongs to the US, Caucasian imperialist
For your information, the Strait of Hormuz is not an international waterway
It belongs to Iran and Oman

This has nothing to do with the western media. What led to the protests in the first place? I guess you are also reading from Aljazeera. A regime that attacks it's neighbors which has demonstrated restraints by not retaliating, what do you call that? I am not against any religion here. What are they protecting their citizens from by executing them and sponsoring terrorism all over the world? This cannot be defended

Suez and Panama canals are man-made (artificial) waterways, whereas the Strait of Hormuz is a natural strait.

Under international maritime law (UNCLOS), the rules for these two types of passages are entirely different:
