to be honest who wouldn't be tired. In as much as I love Arteta, I still recognise deficiency when I see one. We have been playing shit for a long time but have been managing to win games. It's been a reoccurring issue and he should have found a way to work on that. Our players play like robots controlled by positional play. No one plays with freedom and suddenly every player is making errors upon errors. Rice lost possession about 17 times yesterday and Zubimendi 12 times, when your midfield keeps loosing balls like that, it attracts pressure to the back line. Let's hope he doesn't lose to City at the etihad. Let's just hope.

baba it's been cleared all along, na just say we dey manage win matches. When every match day most touches by our players are from defenders, when even the leaders in the team encourage back passes. It's obvious that something should change. It's not even about singling out a particular player anymore, because every match day there's a new person to single out if we really check it. Arteta needs to do better, the deal from the first half of the season is gone and we're just hanging on a thread waiting and hoping for this season to end. For us to believe truly again, he has to go to etihad and come out with a win.

I knew that efl cup final would have an effect on any team that won, I said it here and it is happening. And the fact that we also lost to Bournemouth is giving city every reason to believe they can win this epl. It's just to win us next week and win their match with Palace and it's all done.

This is what have been saying ; the team has been generally poor recently not excusing anyone including Rice with Team lowest duel-won % yesterday, White comical defending recently and Gabi error leading to the second goal yesterday etc....

But it all down to Zubi who we played close to 25 minutes without yesterday and still we couldn't progress the ball from deep....

Our gameplay is very cautious with heavy emphasis on ball retentions which allows most sensible teams to get back in defensive shapes when they lose the ball... I watched Spain vs Turkey ( both home and away), do you know that Merino created more big chances than Pedri and Arda Guler in both games....

I would not excuse Zubi for his bad recent performances but statistically Rice has been worse in duels and giving possessions away but he covers it up with hardworks... If it was Mosquera that did what White or Gabi did yesterday, he would have been skinned alive by the British press and Arsenal fans respectively...

I want us to win this Title and get this overtly cautious approach over with...

Baba is going there to play for Draw which of course to him means a 1-0 scrappy win which is highly unlikely because man City go score us.

Again, we have to review his performance year end. Shikena!

My number issue with Arteta is that he is seeing that Zubimendi is tired, I think at this stage with what we saw on the pitch yesterday, it is now getting to a psychological part, cus tell me why other players are all trying to cheer him up. He is feeling the impact of the errors he keeps making, but Arteta would still start him next match. While not rest him and maybe give him a day break to be with family or whatever.

you see Rice matter, e get as e be. He's a warrior and a fighter for sure but he makes silent errors a lot. His errors are always undermined because he puts up a fighting spirit to recover most times. This is two times that I am focusing on Rice play and seeing him direct players to pass the ball back. He go dey point to zubi to pass back, na so he been dey tell Martinelli to pass back against sporting. They play with too much caution and it's affecting their mentality how they don't even notice.

At this stage if he eventually wins the league it's not his doing again, if he wins the ucl I will credit him alot but you see this epl the on and off is too much for him to get any credit
And he is looking like another average manager i will advise he resign after this season
Winning the UCL will be difficuly but not impossible. I still think you should give him a breather if he wins the EPL which I still think you guys will win anyway irrespective of how he won it.

A win is a win, shey?

Absolutely not.

From the start of the season, I have always maintained that he must win the EPL AND the UCL to get a reprieve from me. Winning one or the other wouldn’t cut it for me, especially the EPL.

I have never seen him as a great coach or tactician, never wanted him as our coach, because I saw this from the start.

After 7 years, he hasn’t proven me wrong. Winning the EPL won’t even prove me wrong because we crawling and begging for the finish line at this point.
Oga Roland, this condition you gave him is tight oo.
Does it really matter how you win it(EPL) so far you win it?
I think you might just give him a reprieve and forgive his shortcomings because you'd be happy after 22 years.

That loss is the motivation Man City has now. They are just simply motivated.

I hope thee boys can gather some momentum and face City like men.

They play with fear and that fear comes from the manager. I need players that will go direct. No dressing of ball. Too much dressing makes it unpredictable for your team mates to receive the pass and that's what is causing them to lose the ball. Hit the ball to your man. Once. Let them progress with it.

I'm happy fans are criticising their back passes. Hope it speaks to their heads and they correct the nonsense

Our attack has been poor all season despite signing a new striker.

That's because we felt we could scrape wins knowing our defense is solid. But solid defense don't win games. It's attack that win games.

We have the personnel, but lack the approach.

The first thing to do is to go direct. Arteta should warn his boys to avoid ball dressing. Kick the ball to the man in front. Once we have the ball, I expect men to start running forward not backwards.

I think it's the pressure of pursuing several trophies at the same time that has put arsenal in a lot of pressure that they have become tired mentally to handle all at ounce or what?

Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 11:19am On Apr 13
If we talk, they will say we're Arteta fans.
Fact still remain that the issue Arsenal is currently battling transcends tactics. This is the same team, the same coach that got us here. What happened? Of course, same thing that's peculiar to Arsenal teams of yesteryears. It's as if the team left something behind at Highbury. They left Highbury without taking along their fearlessness and mentality that made them Invincibles.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't see this team leaving Ethiad with a single point unless something switch on in their heads. I'm an Arsenal fan to the core. Like my blood practically bleed Arsenal. You can imagine how I must have felt when Mourinho called Arsene Wenger a specialist in failure at the eve of our match against Chelsea. What did these players do? They went to Stamford bridge to lose 6-0. They shipped in 1, 2, 3,...6 goals.

Football is won on the pitch. Tactic without execution is nothing. Everybody is free to start their #Artetaout campaign. It's a free world.
But we will be here by the special grace of God.

They're letting the pressure get to them. Funny thing is they know what they should do going by their interviews. Gabriel Jesus especially said something during the international break. He said the players sometimes need to take initiative while on pitch. But this man go enter pitch go dey play rubbish.

And, it's an Arsenal thing.
BTW, the article may not be true. They're preparing another contract for Arteta. The guy is staying unless he resigns.

If man knows e no dey again, let him just use Mourinho style till June abeg.

Score 1 and lock up. After all we sabi play boring footie already. Just ensure the goal comes early and lockup.

So comfortable with risks at the back but cold feet when it's Opponents box 18 despite the touches we take in it? It makes it sound like a useless stat.

See that Kai pass 😂 from middle. E pass rubbish kon dey point😹😹😹😹😹😭😭😭😭

Arteta better allow Zubi rest. Guy is mentally and physically gone. Norgaard it is. He can also try Martinelli as CF vs City. We also need MLS. 352 not bad for that game.

What a time
Part fans and rival fans see the obvious problem without making it a bantering subject. Another part of fans no wan gree😹😹

Will half of our problem disappear if we reduce building from the back by 50%?

Wetin Pep do us for that final don give some players PTSD.

Do you know Raya received 38 back-passes only on Saturday against almighty Bournemouth...

Rice and Zubi has been mis-used playing needless minutes in a game with healthy leads...Norgaard has suffered

God help us this coming Sunday...

You have raised some really good points but to be honest, they all point to one person, Arteta!

Our lack of direct and quick attack is by far our biggest problem and it is hurting every part of our play.

It's all Arteta

Look at how Pep reinvented his team after Haaland dropped form. He started using O'Reilly as his joker.

Arteta should have changed the way his team plays after losing Saka and Odegaard

He cannot expect Havertz to play like Odegaard, or White like Timber

He needs to be brave and deploy MLS to midfield
We need a ball carrier and driver
None of these guys can do that, and he should drop zubi

People think I just hate Arteta.naaa. I just need him to start taking some serious accountability for why we are where are now. Stop throwing players under the bus, pitching certain players against fans or demanding more and more from the fans who have remained loyal to the club but actually taking full responsibility and owning it.

For example, there is absolutely no justifiable excuse for why a proven EPL player and former captain in Noorgard has seen only 56 minutes this season. While I have been hard on Zubi, I also recognize he may be fatigued and mentally fried considering the number of minutes/ games he has played this season.

We go into every game using the same tactics. It is 2026 and we are still stuck with inverting fullbacks! Like everyone has moved on from it. Come up with something new! Adapt to changes during the game. The cautious approach is a reflection of Arteta's mentality towards winning. He needs to get out of his own head.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkforyou(m): 8:45pm On Apr 13
Some thing I have noticed is that Man City, I mean Guardiola and his players aren’t afraid to talk about Arsenal but us on the other hand, we hardly want to talk about man city or their players.

Anytime it comes up in interviews we always want to deflect by saying we want to focus on us, on what we can control.

All these are subtle form of mind games that indicate dominance and submission.

I need our players to talk boldly about them. Fvck them, Fvck their mentality. I want us to tell them to their face that we would come go Etihad and pick up points.

But then again, it’s all wishful thinking. At this point, Bernardo Silva and Rodri has more balls than all our players.

Let’s see how next week pans out.
