And trust me how many people have that 200 GBP after the payment of their bills at every end of the month ...in UK A significant portion of the population in England faces financial vulnerability, with recent data showing that 1 in 5 UK adults (21%) cannot cover a £300 unexpected expense. Furthermore, 12% of UK adults have no savings at all, and over a quarter (27%) have less than £1,000 in savings Many people are living paycheck to paycheck, meaning there is no surplus cash to accumulate savings. Nearly half (46%) of UK adults reported a worsening financial situation in 2023, and a majority did not expect improvement in 2024. Increased reliance on credit cards and loans to manage daily expenses leaves many households using available funds to pay down debt rather than saving. Majority don't have it I mean up to 300 pounds in their account erico2k2: |

ariesbull:you definitely have not lived in the Uk or know anyone who does .Do you believe a Nigerian can buy a car of 110K brand new? Do you know how many Nigerians own their own homes and bring up their kids? even with the new COS laws etc, the minimum pay required for you to come here is above 40K pounds you talk about Bills Bills Bills, you actually pay more bills in Nigeria than Uk people ,you pay for electric you do not see, you pay road tax for dead roads, you pay for MOT that never get carried out, you pay for insurance that you can never ever claim ,you house rent is never proportionate to your salary hence there is corruption, you want me to go on? however as a single person in the Uk you can live i n a self contain or share a flat everything inclusive for less than 600 pounds a month this is even London, outside of London its cheaper. |

ariesbull:...I am trying decipher what you wrote, but what I can untangle from your broken English suggest that I am at bottom rung of the economy ladder. This is not the case, I have travelled back and forth between 9ja and my 'jakpa' enclave and will maintain that it was worth it economically, socially, and mentally. |

ariesbull:You are hilarious actually. I'm reading what you write and I'm laughing at your limitations and inability to understand that erico2k2 is earning from educating himself, which is what is appreciated much in UK, and not your sort of not knowing disguised as knowing. |

budaatum:DO not blame him too much, this is what l ack of education and exposure does. Broad spectrum of thinking is limited. They think we are all carers i n the Uk. Anyway we move |
| Re: Japa To Early Grave: The Hidden Cost Of Chasing Pounds In The UK by budaatum: 10:31pm On Apr 15 |
erico2k2:I think he is just trying to console himself. If you give him the opportunity to be a carer in UK he'd likely jump at it. |

I have several Nigeria pals in different sectors earning 100-170k£ yearly. Seems Unbelievable, na naija cause am I work in Northern Ireland and Ireland by the way. A hit in Dublin in 2024 when I be dy earn £47/h... looks small now ![]() Naija people na wa. Make dm use money do certifications na care jobs dm go dy hustle, na why e hard for person to believe say immigrants dy earn 100k for uk.

ariesbull:/ Their monthly salary is equivalent to your annual income if at all you are employed. Upon that, they have access to quality healthcare, drive on good roads, don't worry about herdsmen massacre and still have clean water and stable electricity. With millions in the bank, if you get into an accident, hospitals will reject you and you die like a cockroach. I hope you still remember that out of 195 countries in the world, Nigeria has the lowest life expectancy of 54. When was the last time you heard about pensioners protesting over non-payment of gratuities, etc? Congratulations!I pray Nigeria doesn't happen to you. You sound like someone who is allergic to honest living. Enjoy your heavenly Nigeria in peace mbok. This is the more reason parents should endeavour to raise independent children. People like you still eating "mummy thank ma" at home think life is all rosy./ |
