shame on on them and their yeye governance ideology.

there was never a time poverty is not in jubilation state in Nigeria or African countries as a whole.
as far as memory can permit me, so called president was a well grown adult when OFN was lunched way back then prioritizing food security. I grew to know what is called 'iyan Buhari' meaning Buhari's pounded yam. all these were nicknames given to the food items door step delivery intervention programs that we enjoyed as a growing child and our parents appreciated till date. Reasons why our parents who were school teachers with such meager income were able to sponsor 3, 4 kids through University same time.

Talking about the toddlers scouting around Abuja roads for means of survival, at what point has it become a concern to him if not for the embarrassment it posses on him siting such heartrending situation they've constantly swept under the carpet. must every hungry Nigerians pick up a plastic bowl to beg for alms before this government feel concern?? because some people's condition is worse than what you see the kids doing on the street.

I have gone to eat at an eatery where an average age Nigerian youth whisper in my ears that I should please assist him by leaving a little leftover that he would know how to pick up my plate afterwords.. when I interacted with him, he wasnt actually a begger, he had stayed two days without food and he had to stay out of jod because the salary couldnt cater for transportation and coupled with several other factors..

Northerners have embraced their problems over years and surviving through whichever means, why is the government trying to downplay its primary responsibility to the nation as a whole..

people have landed properties that had been abandoned for fear of banditry. it takes grace of God to leave for work in the morning and come back home safely without a story that touch..

in the space of 4 days, my street was robbed twice. this is a street that has police post 300 meters away..
we put a call across to police, the DPO responded with sleepy voice and it took over three hours before they eventually called back that they didnt have fuel to move and they couldnt locate the particular street on foot.

I think the Government should just be focused on its responsibilities to its citizen before pointing accusing fingers.

Before the advent of terrorism in the north they have been over breeding and marrying many wives, the terrorism we are facing today is not due to the effect of marrying many wives and giving birth to many children but politicians are the major terrorist we are facing in this country once this evil politicians settle their score terrorism will be defeated

In as much as I agree with lere, but it still left me with one question, when APC were running their mouth when they were in opposition, didn't they know? or they are just waking up? so now that they have known what is the way forward, will they enact law that will checkmate this issue?

This is one problem the North must begin to solve now. There is no reason a man who cannot properly take care of one wife and two children should marry three wives and produce fifteen or seventeen children.

Emir SAnusi once advice them about this, but some illiterate notherns misquote and insult him.

..thats the situation we found ourselves in the country.
to survive comfortably in a country like ours as a common man, its either you join politics or Yahoo-Yahoo..
majority of the supposed civil servant cant even account for their dues and expenses.
and there we have government who is logically trying to reduce population by suffocating its citizen to enable her have control of resources..

Nobody is disputing what you said . But again, why would a man earning less than 60k Naira have 4 wives and 20 children?
Isn’t that stupidity and greed?
Isn’t that gross irresponsibility and low mental reasoning?

Islam honestly supports poverty. The religion needs reform and realignment towards modern society and realities

How is the southwest better, with leaders like Lere’s godfather stealing money that should employ teachers and other workers to make education free for all children as well as other government services and utilities available for all?

What is the point of pointing rotten tribalistic fingers at the north while four others are pointing back at you huh

you no get sense. You deviated from the topic completely. Why should a low income earner have four wives?
Something that has not been mentioned is the cost of living in the North. That's what most southerners see but don't understand up North. It's why your aboki shining your shoe is able to have 4 wives after he gathers some money. It's why they come to Lagos and anywhere there is economic opportunities to hustle and take it back. Their own japa is within so the way we say $40,000 can not do much in US, it may be able to do a lot elsewhere. Not justifying irresponsibility but that's one lens most people don't look at. What's the cost of living in the North?

Those people you see begging on the roads in Abuja are mostly people displaced from conflict zones. They usually have nowhere else to go. Hence, they come to the most lucrative part of the country for begging.

Insecurity is the bigger problem.

Actually the man having 17 children is good for the country. Where do you think the labor comes from to cultivate lands in the north to grow the food we all desperately need?
This is the age of mechanised farming please

Your write up is full of words that are reasonable but out of point on the subject matter. He's talking about family planning, as one of the sources of insecurity in the North. Even communism system of government cannot solve such challenges of unplanned polygamous family.

Indeed they are dominating. Literally. The sheer number of northern youths in the south is alarming. So many are even from Nigeria and Chad....we can't tell the difference.

It's because the South permits it. They claim their religion allows them to marry 4 wives and they are using it now to increase their population so that they can dominate and execute their Jihad. The truth is that the ration of Muslims to Christians in Nigeria is shifting and this is the cause. Population is now used to share allocation thereby the responsible South is helping them take care of their responsibility. We need to adopt the Collegiate electoral system in America so that elections are not won based on simple majority. Otherwise, they will continue to promote political dominance through religion. That's why they want to spread Sharia to South West. It's a subtle continuation of Fulani Jihad. CAN better wake up before what happened to Turkey repeat itself in Nigeria.

you have a point bro, but in reality, who are the majority in Nigerian political cycle? is it not the same Northerners? if anything bothers them so much that it attracts their interest of change, such amendment dont even surface over the news.. to me, such deliberation is not yet an issue to the Northerners who constitutes majority in our political dispensation as a country. Mind you, Billions of naira is constantly rolled out to the ministry of humanitarian affair on monthly basis. I have once had a reason to question the disbursement of this fund when the ministry claimed to have disbursed over 2 Billion naira to 4 communities only in Kaduna state.

All these are fair games they wont claim not to be aware of. how does United Nations believe Nigerian is trully in deep need if not to paint a picture of humanitarian needs..

Our problems are fundamental and only God can see us through

You know, you're not far from the truth.

I was shocked when the aboki supplying water said he has built two houses back home, and is saving to buy motor.
All on supplying water o.
And they work so hard too, from morning till late in the evening.

Truth is, opportunities abound in Nigeria, and only a few see them.
