Welcome development
Kushites:
This pipeline project is a good move that will raise national revenue and budget and quite possibly double our annual budget from the current $40 billion to perhaps $70 or $80 billion.

BUT we need to ensure we also have sufficient gas for local industrial development, and not focus solely or even mostly on export.

Economic independence is vital. That gas must help to grow local industries that rely on LNG, of which there are many.
Aptlysaid!

A foolish investment. This kind of project is an easy target for Islamic jihadists and bandits. It will never see the light of day.

When it comes to having our gas, though for valuable consideration, Morocco will not racially discriminate against Blacks! Morocco is noted worldwide for discriminating against blacks racially and for being inclined to Europe than it is to Africa for obvious reasons! Anti-black racism exists in Morocco, affecting both Black Moroccans and sub-Saharan African migrants, with deep-seated roots in historical slavery and societal prejudices. While the government has implemented some reforms, reports show Black people in Morocco face discrimination, harassment, and social marginalization.
Oga this is business.....
Will they getting the gas free?

If you come off your tribalism, you will see the socio-economic reasons, but it's doubtful you will.

Why ship gas to Europe through a 6,900km pipeline with several risk factors along that pupeline when we can just convert our gas to LNG, thereby creating more Nigerian jobs and export the LNG for more revenue than just piping away our resources?

The National Assembly, NBA and the opposition parties should ask questions. They major on the minor issues instead.

Oga we are all Nigerians and we know what our people will do. Independent companies is the way to go. If we want to do business like the Europeans, we gotta think like them. Bring in policies that will curtail any form of irregularities, theft or scams. By so doing we'll be sustainable.
You are just writing a grammar you don't understand jack about. Maybe all you will taught in school is how to speak gramar and no sense in it.

A very stupid and wasteful project being undertaken by the Nigerian government. The risks involved are not worth the billions of dollars sunk already for a pipeline that will never recover the costs in 100 years. Let Morocco send their ships to Bonny and buy gas.
It will overcover the cost in a very short time. This is why you are not successful in business, for this comment you just made.

profmallor:
You may have a point. Why run a pipe, considering the level of insecurity in the countries the pipe might run through?
Europe is ready to take that risk because they really need the gas.

Didn't they say that our power grid was having gas supply issues now they want to export that remaining gas to Europe. The elite to sell our resources without building anything because the would be too much work I guess. We are an economic colony.
Because you people cannot pay for the gas na. Do you pay for the electricity you consume?

You have seen it na. and some people here are saying that Putin and Russia have their interest at heart, when it was Putin who instigated these coups in those African countries. A bunch of wicked people.

Teymanhenry:
😂 Compare our annual infrastructural budget and that of South Africa, then also compare the quality of infrastructure in both countries. When you do, you'll Nigeria is a mess when it comes to infrastructures.

It's surprising you don't know that monies are syphoned through contractors. The quality of work they do is never commensurate to the money spent
So, because money is siphoned through contractors, then we should not do projects with contractors again.
You people have been deceived too much that Nigeria is a very wealthy nation and that is very wrong.

LordLicifer:
Absolutely! Waste of money, it would never ever come to pass anyway.
It will come to pass, wicked people enemies of the nation.

When will this deal come to fruition. Every government is signing this deal. Talk less , lets see action.
You people just love to talk anyhow. When did you see any governmnet who signed this thing before in the past. Now that Europe is very much interested in gas from Africa, people like you are now trying to discourage this project that will enable us to make more money than Russia. Them swear for Una Africans?

Reference:
Laying a pipeline through countries that are poorer than you... good luck to that. Nothing more to add. You know me and gas are not friends. Look at the economic devastation through skyhigh energy costs here in Nigeria.

Just hope by the time, perhaps in decades when the pipeline will have reached Morocco Europe will not have gone totally green and cut their gas demands.

I think there are far better ways to spend and better things to spend our money on.
They cannot go totally green in 2031. didnt you hear that the project will be completed in 2031, Europe is planning to get ride of Russian gas by that time.

keep wishing it does in your life time and in the life time of your entire generations, some of you do not reason at all, you believe anything, the insecurity and corruption alone would hinder this fairytale unachievable project. grin you can bet all you own on it. Do you know how much it takes to build an LNG gas processing facility? The price can even build more of these pipelines, and it has limitations. Also, the production capacity will not be up to what the pipeline can transport, and secondly, you need to invest in a lot of ships to transport it. What about the cost? You should think about all these before you make an assertion.

You are very negative in your thinking here, and there is nothing like wishfully thinking in all of these. The project in question has multiple facets and it serves multiple countries. So insecurity in one nation cannot mean that it will become a total failure. I personally have build mulitipe pipeline across Nigeria, and they have all become huge successes. The AKK project is currently ongoing in the northern part of the country despite the high level of insecurity there, so why do you think this one cannot happen? But almighty Russia can build 6 pipelines to sell gas to Europe, and Africa cannot build just one. Well, Africans are not planning to build just one; they are planning to build 3 different pipelines around 3 different routes, and this Nigeria-Morocco pipeline is along the safest of all the routes, and yet you think it will not work. When it is even Europe that is financing and pushing for it. They need Nigerian gas so badly that they can get rid of Russian gas. If not for Shell, the Europeans trust me, NLNG would have become like one of our own refineries here in Nigeria. So trust me, as long as the Europeans have a hand in this pipeline t will definitely work.
