Personally, I respect Pope Leo. To me, he is second only to Pope John Paul, (my favorite Pops in recent Roman Catholic history). But on this US/Iran conflict, Pope Leo is getting it all mixed up. This is not a matter of politics, he is speaking truth to power, which is what most religious figures are supposed to do. The world stage is not Nigeria. If you care to know, the Catholic Pontiff by virtue of his position is a world leader .

Another religious figure that bore this same mindset is Late Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Late Pope John Paul 11.

Bishop Desmond Tutu was known for his fight against apartheid in South Africa and support for social justice while Pope John Paul was against tyrannical communist rule in his native country Poland during the Cold war.
