Or maybe there's something fundamentally wrong with Nigerians that make them unable to appreciate someone like Sowore who has risked his life many times fighting for the good of the nation, instead they would rather worship their oppressors, the very people destroying the country, for peanuts 😢😢😢
😁😁
Or maybe there something wrong with sowore and all Nigerians together

Well, I’m not arguing anything with you and this would be my last response.

There’s nothing good from the NADECO people. They’ve been in power since 2015 and there’s no freedom of speech or expression. They’re worse than Abacha.

Finally, Sowore is a protest merchant and cannot cling to any credibility whether on his person or from the antecedents of the NADECO. So, go and gaslight those you can. Probably the Gen’Zs not me

nairalanda1:
Well, they are all the same to me, the people you support and the NADECO people, so go somewhere else with your argument.

I'm just correcting the false impression that there was freedom of expression and speech under Abacha.

Lol, you and the nadeco people are alike.

I don't care for either of your sides anyway..Y'all can retire and leave Nigeria for Nigerians

What was Obi doing at that time?

I heard he was wining and dining with Abacha. cheesy FFO, For Food Only!

The only mistake Sowore did was not going for elective position at lower levels decades ago. He would have scaled up to be viable for the presidency? I salute his struggles for democracy, but no way Nigerians will vote for him as president. He should have started as a lawmaker.
at least have some shame and show us a real picture other than a doctored Ai photo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Here is me attaching a real life photo of tinubu dining with Abacha, till money changed hands 🤣🤣🤣

How did he become a cashtivist? Are you or someone you know, paying him to go on protests? I'll really like to understand how you arrived at your conclusion

You guys are never real.

Atiku, Obi, Tinubu, Kwankwaso, Amaechi, Jonathan, Yaradua all held elective positions before becoming viable for the presidency.

People like Makinde were extremely successful in the business world before becoming governor.

Buhari, OBJ were former military head of states.

Sowore has no credentials in the political and business world for people to measure his ability.

You can distort reality all you want sha.

Your last statement gives more validation to why people like Sowore can't become president in this country. If those who have served before and were business titans failed, what are the chances of someone without CV?

When people were clamouring for Akinwumi Adesina to run, it was because of his exploits as an economist, former minister of Agriculture and as president of Africa Development Bank. Same with people like Okonjo Nweala. We've seen her exploits as minister of finance and as director-general of WTO.
It is only in Africa that y'all create unnecessary bottleneck for yourselves to impede development.

I can flip your last statement in my favour, in the sense that governing nigeria especially at the presidential level is not rocket science.

We have seen it vividly that leadership failures that we've experienced across different administrations is not due to lack of knowledge of what to do but rather, lack of political will to do the right thing. They intentionally ignore people-centric policies and you know it.

You mentioned cv and I laffed, which cv did you demand of obj or bugari or yar adua when they became president, especially the dullard buhari.

Until Nigerians are cerebral enough to understand that choice of candidate should be based on campaign presentations and issue based debates by candidates rather than some bogus political cv that helps no one, then yall will never develop and the worst will keep ruling you.

How you people just jump into conclusion based on assumption can be so funny and annoying sometimes...

Well, just to let you know, I witnessed 3 military governments before democracy came in 1999, so shove your nonsense research down the drain because I witnesssed things for myself and was even close to the military governments based on where I lived.
If this info is true, then one will wonder why you make so much uninformed and ignorant comments.

This guy is 1 million times better than all those old tired retired cargoes in ADC. See the kind of Leader the Senegalese voted for as there president. Young and vibrant but here in Nigeria, the delusional Nigerians that want change are proposing old cargoes that where once there oppressors while in power and have used there hate for the present government with a pinch of tribalism to whitewash those empty leaders
You guys keep regurgitating this "young and vibrant" talk. Was Yahaya Bello not young when he became governor? What is his record for the eight years he used in power as governor? It's not about age, its about personality. Go to tertiary institutions and see how your "young" people play politics in school - just as the old politicians do.

You?

If that is how you see the truth, that's your problem, not mine...

I didn't want to log in and talk, but this your comment made me do so

NADECO members suffered under Abacha. Many of them fled abroad, some of them got detained, or roped up in coup things, people like Chief Rewane and Mrs Kudirat Abiola were executed by government agents linked to Abacha, and even those that were not suffering were harrased by government
agents.

Sir, when it has come to comparing then and now means we still not enjoyed democracy.

Can anybody protest nowhuh ..so what is democracy here?

I remembered when the country was shutdown for raising fuel price during GEJ but today many things calling for revolt but look at what happened during endsars, till now government is denying the s.avage

Sir what is democracy here??

Can we freely protest for our right today?

Also, people like Sowore suffered as you dey see am...he too had to go abroad.

Some of you were not born to see what some of us saw. It's because most of the adults of those days don't comment on nairaland, otherwise dem go tell you stories.

Abacha was a brutal guy. If you were detained by his goons, dem go hold you for underground DSS prision, no go see your lawyer, or your family...and so forth.

Compared to Abacha, tinubu and buhari and all our democratic leaders are nice people. Take MNK...at least people know where he is, he went through normal court case. In 1995, Ken Saro-Wiwa was just dragged before a millitatty tribunal and sentenced to death, and within the hour it was carried out. Just like that. And his crime was agitating for better for his tribe, not even calling for secession, june 12 or overthrow of Abacha.

Make una no dey come here cap nonsense. I no dey like tinubu, but I also no dey like lies.

I have never liked the guy. Even before VDM exposed allll the rubbish.

Iv always seen sowore as someone more interested in Drama and attention, more than he is in Solutions.

He who quarrels with both sides of a equation, is never interested in the solution.
