Iamoyindamola please recommend any Netflix and or Prime Video series wey make sense wey person fit watch.

Nowadays once I read the short notes on most of the shows on Netflix and Prime I don't really get gingered to watch them. It just seems like I already know where the show will head and it won't really be interesting.
Been doing catchup with some series and particularly developed interest in The Pitt

So David Hundeyin ha a livestream yesterday, got challenged and he left the livestream

You have to be simply mad now to follow anything about Hundeyin

Someone is recounting how his family members have been killed by Jihadists and you are trying to gaslight him into blaming Canadians, Australians and phantoms of your imagination

David is a waste of oxygen and a disgrace to his family name

There are 2 angles to his argument, 1. Study locally vs Abroad and 2. STEM vs Non STEM

The 2nd argument is what fits our agenda. His argument is the currently, the STEM careers make more than non STEM and from STEM, you can easily slide into a Non STEM career. I know people who are lawyers, Accountants, Media personnel, HR (Supposed Non Stem fields) whose first degrees were STEM but you cannot have a Doctor, an Engineer who was not a STEM person

Even when the jobs are contracted out, e.g contract it to Nigeria, the STEM guys in Nigeria will still make more than the non STEM.

Even in Dangote situation, there will be more Engineers making bank than Mass Comm people. Given that Engineers and Stem require specific trainings that others can not have, while in Mass comm, anyone can do it
Anybody that wants to make career choice for their wards strictly focusing on money/financial success is better off encouraging them to develop interest in sports or entertainment.

All these STEM o, branch o or root sef no get level where successful sporting career dey. I would rather have my son be the next Bukyo Saka than all these STEM vs Non STEM "rakatia"

I just can't help myself.

I literally read the short notes on Netflix for the series "BANDI" and I just concluded it is not for me. Then I saw a guy on TikTok recommend it as a very good watch everybody should checkout......I then decided to watch and was happy I did.

So why do people make career choices if not for the ability to make money and financial success?.
The number 1 reason people choose certain career is financial success.
You think anyone enjoy spending 5yrs in school for Engineering, 6yr for Medicine when they can easily spend 4yrs studying Sports and History

This is where STEM comes in. We look at the probability. The number of successful footballers vs the number of boys interested in sport is so small that its easier for a 35yr old mechanic to become a successful surgeon than a for a random boy on the street to become a successful pro footballer

The problem with sports and entertainment is that odds are seriously against you. The risk of failing or not getting to the top is very high in those fields and you now have an adult child with no education and whose skill isn't skilling.

In terms of risk assessment and the probability of having a decent to fairly affluent life (without reaching the dizzy heights of the sports stars and entertainers) the STEM way is still the best way.

Those sports stars and entertainers are lottery winners. It is a needle in the haystack chance of success that the average parent or child can't bank on.

The problem is there are a whole lot of unsuccessful STEM graduates the same way there are unsuccessful athletes in Nigeria.

NB: I'm specifically talking about Nigerian situation o.

if your stem no carry you enter corporate nigeria, it does not make that much difference

how many oil jobs are there?

stem degrees are not an automatic ticket to a high earning career.

it is the same way people hope to hammer as athletes that people hope to hammer in stem

american hood had hoop dreams - naija has or had oil and gas dreams

and as most oil majors are pulling out and it is getting taken over by nigerians, the dangote killing of union will become mainstream

There is no career that guarantees success. We are talking about the relative risks involved and the probability of success.

Even in the Nigerian setting the chances for a STEM graduate are better than for a budding sports star.

Nothing is guaranteed in life, We can only increase our probability of success. No career is guaranteed but you use available data to give yourself a better off

Now you are seeing things from my viewpoint.

Less than a month ago PENGASSAN Shell branch were protesting in Lagos over their CBA. Since our Naija people took over after the oyinbo divestment bird no dey cry like bird again for that side.

That was why I said if it's all about money, then the parent should focus on helping his child build career in sports and entertainment.

Nothing in this world is an automatic ticket to a high earning career, Not even Medicine or Aeronautic Engineering. Its simply about increasing your chances
Even in Nigeria, its easier for STEM to enter corporate world than Non STEM because most jobs Non STEM can do, Stem guys can also do it but not the reverse

And when we go into the non corporate world, its equal for Non stem and Stem.

So while Stem has advantage in corporate hiring, Non Stem do not have anywhere

Where I grew up, I know quite a number of senior men who ended up in Oman, Israel, Finland, Norway, Bulgaria and those European countries football league where they were able build a better life for themselves and their family members in the long run.

Then there are some senior men who studied STEM and non STEM courses who still stay in their parents house till date due to naija situation of unemployment an all

How many of those senior men set played football with them and couldnt leave the trenches? They are probably way more than those who made it from football

Unemployment from those who pursue football as a career will be way more than those who went to school

you get?

That's why I don't blame our local politicians, because even those in international are all the same.

The only difference is that those ones plays it on international level while those with us here will suffocate us locally instead of carrying their master strategy on international stage..

How about Nigeria try and reclaim the bakasi peninsula that was illegally given to Cameron?

There is no right or wrong in today's world , just who has the upper hand on the power flex.

Troops destroy terrorist hideouts linked to Monguno attack

By: Zagazola Makama

Troops have destroyed identified terrorist hideouts in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State following investigations into a recent attack on military positions.

Security sources said the action was taken sequel to the ISWAP terrorist attack on troops’ locations at Charlie 13 and Charlie 7 in Monguno on April 13, 2026.

According to the sources, findings from ongoing investigations at about 1:05 p.m. on April 14 revealed that some structures in the Gana Ali general area were being used as hideouts by the terrorists.

The sources added that certain houses and makeshift structures along the route were also identified as facilitating the emplacement and detonation of a command improvised explosive device (IED) used during the attack on reinforcement troops.

Consequently, the identified structures were destroyed in situ to deny the terrorists further operational advantage.

Security sources said the measure was part of ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist capabilities and prevent future attacks on troops in the North-East.

LOL. You are talking anecdotally, I am talking in terms of the overall factual statistics and probability. There will always be stories on both sides to either support or weaken a point of view.

Those anecdotes are not really strong evidence because for instance as a doctor I have seen chain smokers that lived to 80yrs-90yrs and I have seen non-smokers who died from lung cancer in their 50s. That does not mean that smoking is good.

The stats say that the probability of living a middle class to upper middle class life is higher if you study STEM than if you try to become a professional sportsman in the country.

Most people trying to become sportsmen won’t even make it to pro level in the country and those who make it to pro level are not paid much anyway. Only a minority of those that make it are able to live viable lives abroad. Those are the very few that won a genetic lottery.

If you ask your PC AI. ChatGPT, Grok etc. the relative chances of upper middle class life for a child studying STEM and a child trying to be a sportsman or entertainer the disparity will shock you,

During the week a lady made a video about a bread she bought that lasted for 2 months and didn't go bad implying whatever preservatives used in it's production may be harmful to the health of consumers.

The lady didn't mention the name of the bread, and didn't show the logo/label of the bread in the video she made.

However, the owner of BON bread assumed she was referring to her bread and tried make her recant the video or make apology video for defaming her brand.

The CEO on the advise of her lawyers have now slammed the woman with a lawsuit despite the fact that her brand was never mentioned o. She claimed because the lady liked a comment on her original video that suggested she was referring to BON bread, then indeed her brand was the target of her video.

Personally I think she has hungry lawyers who want to milk her of whatever money she's been making from her business. I mean how are they going to present their case in court on mere assumption and not facts? If this was Erisco foods vs Chioma case one would say BON bread has a good case, but this one just be like say the CEO Wan use her own hand give her brand bad publicity.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 9:10am On Apr 18
So, I think this is what's happening

1) The lady made the video without mentioning any bakery

2) People started mentioning BON (whether na true or na lie).

Now, the BON CEO is trying to fight the perception. That's why she reached out to her.

Truly, the suit makes no sense, but I think I understand what the CEO is crying over. Because of her video, people now have a perception about her bread (whether it's true or not)
