Too many people cling to the belief that a mistaken transfer is an opportunity to spend freely and challenge the sender. That mindset is unlawful. Anyone who knowingly exploits such an error should be treated as a criminal and face appropriate consequences.

You are very gracious, definitely you are a good person.

I dont know the story, until now and still dont have details.

I can feel the pain of Chukwuebuka; but Awodoyin has definitely suffered shame in this . I dont think putting up her picture was necessary.
Exactly, why put up her picture over a mistake that was not hers? She didn't acquire the money by fraudulent means. He sent it to her.

Don't make a silly error like that in the first place. What if the opay account owner is not alive. Would you turn the dead person into a criminal?

It's very necessary. There must be consequences for actions except you want this evil to be the norm. Leave sentiments and emotions aside.

But wait... The lady is a thief, Opay doesn't deduct automatically due to debt but Pampay does....
Opay does that now.

Nonetheless, she's most likely a thief for being dishonorable to block further communication.

That affirms criminal intent.

Awodoyin is not an Omoluabi— I'm not proud of her. She is a thief.

Don't mind him.. When sending money, you are always asked to confirm. Yet you send money to someone willingly, and came back claiming victim.

I admire her effort to resolving this situation.

Also I take back every word I said that put her in a bad spectrum.
She's a thief. Simple. No two ways about it. Her family member refunded the money not her.

Putting her picture was necessary. She should have treated the matter amicably but because she's a thief and saw easy money, she never knew the backlash would come out like that. Criminals pictures are posted, she's not an exception.

Things are not always what we think they are, what if Opay actually took the money from her account as a result of outstanding debt amd she doesn't have money to pay him back at that moment. You can never tell bro.

Besides, poverty make people lie, and being a liar destroyed future opportunities. The worst thing to have evee happened to a human bring is to be broke in this part of the world.
because you are broke you become a thief? ok continue o, abi to thief dey your blood before.

The girl is a thief and she must return all the money. We blame those in govt whereas we are all the same kind of people.
Re: 24 Hours After, Opay Customer Awodoyin Returns ₦54,000 Of ₦100,000 by Bahamas95(m): 7:28am On Apr 18
This thief has brought disgrace upon herself and her family, no matter how they try to sugarcoat what she did. Even if she refunds 200k or more she would still be considered a thief in my view. No reasonable person would allow her near them or offer her employment. Her actions show a lack of conscience.

What does "FIJ" mean? Why do some people use acronyms while writing? Do they expect everyone to understand them? It's so annoying.

Appreciate which effort? Why do some of you even like supporting evil? That girl is heartless, period!

The sender deserves some blame in this. When making money transfers, we cannot afford to be callous. If you send money for someone that is looking for money to eat, it is like a prayer answered. Won't the person use some of it to buy foodstuffs first? I am not exonerating the lady for what she did, blocking the sender was not the best but the guy deserves some blame too.
What if the owner of the account that money was sent to is not even alive? Or it is a non-opay account where you cannot even contact the receiver? If you ask me, the sender should learn his lessons.
I sent money for one GT account wey go till date. Na for my POS, my POS merchant no help, GT too no help, 50k, they requested for court order, lawyers dey tell me 30k for order, I pleaded with one wey accept 20k, but e no gree respond to my msg again after agreeing to the 20k, Na so I leave fight for God. The transfer initially showed pending, and my naive salesgirl retried it, Na so 2funds go successfully.

During Opay early years of giving bonus, an hostel mate of my sister in Uni used her line to register Opay in his name(no BVN required), and my sis wasn't aware.
my sis doesn't use Opay, my mum is now using the line, na so a guy called my mum that he sent fund in error to her, my mum was like which account and what's the name?
He stated the name on the account but it's different to my sis, he chatted up on WhatsApp but my sis is having the WhatsApp account and she is in a different state, the guy thought my sis wasn't ready to return the fund, I tried to check the amount and it was 2k or 5k(forgotten but not more than 5k)
I checked the account, saw a different name, asked my sis, she said she knows the person but they were just hostel mate not friends as such, that the person is the type that always seek for freebies online back then.
Tried logging in, but we don't have any password, since the SIM is with my mum, I did a reset, then setup transferred pin, saw the fund in the account and I helped the guy with the refund.
The guy was over happy, I was like he might be a student wey someone just helped with urgent 2k, because it was both the sender and receiver that was calling continuously, I had to tell them to stop calling for few mins so as to stop disrupting the network

Blaming a clear and avoidable wrongdoing/action on someone else’s mistake is a sign of irresponsibility. Two wrongs don't make a right. On this, the person is alive and decided not to come with clean hands/hearts until it is been escalated.
