Ghanaian arrested for allegedly stealing police armoured Vehicle

A man identified as Ebenezer Frimpong has been arrested for allegedly stealing an armoured vehicle belonging to the Ghana Police Service in Nkawie Market, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred when the driver of the police armoured vehicle briefly stepped away, leaving the engine running in the busy market area.

Frimpong was said to have taken advantage of the situation, entered the vehicle, and drove off, prompting an immediate response from security operatives.

Law enforcement officers launched a coordinated pursuit after receiving reports of the theft, tracking the suspect along the Nkawie–Mim route.

He was eventually intercepted and arrested near Mim following what authorities described as a swift and coordinated operation.

“The suspect was apprehended without further incident, and the vehicle was recovered intact,” a security source said.

Authorities confirmed that the armoured vehicle was retrieved without damage and has since been returned to police custody.

Frimpong remains in custody as investigations continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Find a good lawyer and he's good to go.

Can't someone do rehearsal in peace again? Or is it because it's an armoured car and government property.? cool

He should just be allowed to drive it to the prison himself, get to court and plead guilty that he had always dreamt of being a police officer chasing after criminals.... he didn't have the intention of doing anything with the vehicle but just got carried away with emotions and apologise then plead with the judge to temper justice with mercy.....he could get a light sentence.

Steal an armoured vehicle. Some guys sure go big. I thought it's only in the UK you find thieves who hijack mail trains and all. I'm sure our Ghanaians brothers will soon match that.
