Nigerian Customs’ First Female Pilot Earns U.S. Commercial Multi-engine Licence by AnonPoet(op): 2:05pm On Apr 20
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded another milestone as its first female pilot, Superintendent of Customs Nafisat Balogun, has successfully obtained a commercial multi-engine pilot licence in the United States.

The announcement was made in Abuja on Sunday by the Service’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Maiwada, who described the achievement as a significant moment for both Balogun and the organisation.

According to him, Balogun was recently celebrated at a ceremony organised by the Nigeria Customs Technical Hangar Service in recognition of her latest qualification, which further strengthens her pioneering role within the Service.

Balogun is already known as the first female pilot in the Nigeria Customs Service, a field traditionally dominated by men, making her latest certification another historic step in her career progression.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Customs Technical Hangar Service, Kuhi Mbaya, praised her journey from cabin crew member to licensed commercial pilot, describing it as a reflection of personal determination and institutional backing.

He noted that her achievement has set a new standard within the Service and encouraged more female officers to pursue specialised aviation and technical roles without hesitation.

Mbaya also commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, for supporting gender inclusion and professional development across the agency.

In her remarks, Balogun expressed appreciation to the Customs Service for its support, reaffirming her commitment to duty and pledging continued professionalism and dedication.

Balogun first made history in 2024 when she became the first female pilot in the Service, and her latest accomplishment has further cemented her status as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s customs aviation unit.

Because they are the two loudest tribes…alot of Nigerians are doing great things but the media will never carry it because they are not igbo or Yoruba.

An igbo or Yoruba man will buy a $30k dollar watch the entire world will hear about whereas 100s of Nigerians have done it before without making too much noise.

Funny enough the 2 tribes do it to spit on each other’s face.

If she was ibo he would have said something different. Nigeria is seriously down the precipice of tribalism, we are definitely not coming back from this dark side . Last last nigeria will be divided in the future.

Bro! The thing tire me

This is the reason why I mentioned earlier that news about igbo and Yorubas doing great things keep making it to the media more than others because it will generate lot engagements from tribalism banter. They both do it to spit on each others faces.

I find it hard to understand this Yoruba vs Igbo beef. Funny enough having lived in the north, aside religion they don’t have tribalism there. They do but not as much as in the southz

If you lived in kaduna as Yoruba Muslims for lets say 20 years and mixed with them, you will enjoy every privilege the state citizens will enjoy. Infact your children can contest for political office and they will be nothing like “his parents are not from this state”

But in Lagos for example, having lived there all your life is not enough as long as you are not Yoruba.

Omo! But una want go UK become citizens abi? If oyinbo were tribalistic like you will they allow you become citizens and even hold political offices?

This shows that, like most of the lowlifes spreading tribalism, you have never left your region. Asking him what he went to do in Kaduna is crazy, man. People travel for several reasons: work, business, etc.

Secondly, I have gone through your previous posts, and it shows you are a Tinubu supporter just because he is your tribesman; this goes to show you are very unexposed.

The guy is more exposed and enlightened than you; that is why he sees things from a different perspective. This is why the whites he mentioned don't care who comes and becomes a citizen or contests for political office, because they are already a mature and exposed society.

Your Yoruba, Igbo, Edo, or Hausa land can never prosper without the contribution of outsiders.

Though I am Yoruba by tribe but this your reasoning is very myopic and far from being intelligent
