it's all pampering. I wasn't escorted to any exam centre and I know teens that aren't escorted because they at least 17-18 before attempting Jamb. You'd go a week before the exam to locate your centre so it's easy on the exam morning.

So, it takes time before they decide to give them space ---that usually happens when they are fully convinced that their children can take care of themselves.

What manner is parenting is that, which makes a Parent see a Child that is about to enter University, as a BABY?
It has nothing to do with "bond" between Parent and child, it is just Over-pampering.
It is such Unexposed 'Babies" that are easily lured into Cultism, when they are finally on their own at the University.

I entered University at 16yrs+, my Parents never for one day, followed me to a JAMB centre nor set foot in my University, throughout my 5yrs of study in the School, despite being less than10Km to our House!
I enjoyed that benefit, only on Matriculation and Convocation Days.

What I saw on these Jamb days shocked me.

Complete family following their wards to examination centers and waiting for them till their paper finish. (Father, Mother and siblings).

The tough time they were given!

This goes to tell you that Nigeria is no longer safe for teenagers to handles as little as an examination by themselves, the reason parents or guardians go with them.

You don't have to police your kids up and down. She should have let the child be free doing her exams while she attended to her own health.

it has nothing to do with insecurity if truly examined, the insecurity is a ruse.. if she passed the exam right, it means she will enter school in about 6 or 7month after, will she followed her to school also? will she stay with her in school as well becasue of insecurity?? achild that is not matured enough to go write exam by itself is not mature enough to enter school simple..we should stop raising weaklings all in the name of being a loving parent
