A devastating series of random attacks took the lives of multiple women Monday morning in DeKalb County and has one of the victims fighting for his life. Many questions remain in the "completely random" attacks, as Brookhaven Police Chief Brandon Gurley put it, that unfolded across the early morning hours. One of those that will likely remained unanswered is why the accused suspect began attacking people at random just after midnight and continued with targeting two more people before 7 a.m. We also, as of Tuesday morning, still don't know the identities of two of the victims.

Here is what we do know:

Suspect identification: 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon-Abel was arrested in Troup County by state troopers. Police credited a private neighborhood's Flock license plate reader with identifying a rental car Abel was traveling in (a silver Volkswagen Jetta) and helping track him down to Troup County.

Victim identification: Only one of the three victims has been identified. That is 40-year-old Lauren Bullis, who was walking her dog in the area of Battle Forrest Drive when she was attacked. Police say she was shot and stabbed multiple times. A neighbor also described witnessing what she described as an attempted sexual assault as she ran out of her house after hearing gunfire. "Like I'm standing at the end of the driveway," she said. "He didn't care at all."
